Art Tatum: The Solo Masterpieces

The man was a genius of the keyboard. In his time and today, he is hailed as one of the greatest technicial and expressive piano players. Those compliments came from all genres of musicians, including Vladimir Horowitz, who regularly saw Tatum play.

I'm listening to a bunch of new stuff from an Xmas iTunes gift certificate right now, including them, TV On The Radio, Built To Spill and LCD Soundsystem.

When I am on the Computer, the speakers are OFF. I listen to two radio stations during the day. From 6-10am The Bob & Tom Show, From 10am-12pm Diane Ryme. on the local NPR station in my area, WFYI Indianapolis 90.1, Then bits and pieces of NPR programing like Day to Day, Terry Gross, etc.. Oh ya on the weekend.. Prairie Home Companion and Car Talk with the Tapit Brothers. (Click and Clack, The Rust EZ owners in the Movie CARS).
 
Richard Strauss' opera Daphne with the world's greatest soprano Renee Fleming singing the title role. As my wife and daughters are on their annual January holiday at Pt. Elliot, I can wind up the wick without fear of the consequences.
