not much listening, but lots of flea market vinyl waiting for a bath....
"There's a stack of shellac and vinyl
Which is yours now and which is mine?"
Elvis Costello
Let's see. We've got Esquivel, Errol Garner, "Casino Royale," Los Lobos, The Impressions, "The Sounds of Exotic Island" -- The Surfmen, Wilson Pickett (no, not Pickett Wilson of RFF), Sergio Mendes, Mercury Living Presence - Dorati conducting Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #3, The Smithereens, John Mayall, "Chester & Lester" (Chet Atkins and Les Paul)... all of these except for Casino Royale from a country auction last weekend. Each of them $1.00. Casino Royale from the auction a year ago, also one buck. A cleaner copy than the one I bought at Princeton Record Exchange years ago for a price I'd be embarrassed to repeat.
12 records. 12 bucks. A nice haul.

^^ Some very nice music waiting to be played. I still love the Impressions and as for John Mayall, him and the Bluesbreakers were another 60's viewing at the town hall - so good, so very good!

...a bootleg of the Beach Boys' "Smile" recording sessions. Studio talk, Brian Wilson and musicians working out parts and duffing around between takes. Love it!

This morning I listened to some old Beatles tunes, followed by the Rolling Stones and then a song by the Kinks. I attended a Kinks concert when I was only 11 years old (in Germany). There was also a singer called David Gerick. He was very big at that time in the mid 60's. I recall also at the concert a very noisy group called the Monks. Their reputation was similar to that of the Ramones as it pertains to loudness.
I must be talking a stroll on memory Lane today.
