mooge: Wonderful!
While my scanner gently purrs, I'm listening to Joshua Bell and Jeremy Denk's brand-new album French Impressions, which is fabulous through-and-through.

I work nights. Our place is not the quietest.
Sleeping here during the day is a challenge.
An electronic sound conditioner helps.
Mine is a Marsona model DS-600A.
The "Thunderstorm" setting is my favorite.

Sometimes I go to youtube and just fool around. Found these clips called Scopitones, which were apparently the forerunners of video music clips.
They're all different, and all very strange. I think you could go to restaurants and such, and put money in a machine and play these like a visual jukebox. Anyway, here's one of my favorites, and we can all try and figure out just what in the heck they were on about here. Queen of the house. Woa!

This one is probably not work safe: the French Scopitone. Ohhh, la la.

Right now - and often - Max Raabe and the Palast Orchester [spelling is correct.] They are a group out of Berlin who do upscale versions of 20s and 30s big band tunes in English and German, mostly. They have something of a cult following here in the states - me among them - and last week I saw them on Sat. in NYC, and then drove to Boston to see them again on Sun. Daughter says I am a groupie! I hope so.
