What are you listening to at the moment?

Garrison Keillor's final (?) appearance as host of a live broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion.
He will host next week's new show but it will be pre-recorded.

'My Head is an Animal' by 'Of Monsters and Men.' Especially for the track 'Dirty Paws' which featured in the recent 'Walter Mitty' film with Ben Stiller. Listening on my newly acquired Iriver H340, which I iust 'Rockboxed.'

The Avalanches, Frankie Sinatra - Australia's least productive band.

Wildflower is being released in dribbles, which is their first album since debuting with Since I Left You in 2000. Apparently it's been in the works since around 2005 - only took a decade to write!

Shahmen - All in the Circle (pretty amazing kind of dark hip hop album)

Perfume Genius - Too Bright (another epic album)

Motorhead - "Dead and Gone" and "One More ****ing Time" (just good songs)

Damien Jurado - "Silver Timothy"

Jobriath - "Heartbeat"

Kadavar - "Doomsday Machine" and "Black Snake" (a lot of it is very Black Sabbath, which is always a good thing)

My New-to-Me Yahama NS-690 Speakers, which I have -just- completely restored. New speaker stands (custom made/MIG welded to my specs) just arrived and I am good good good with all of it. The Yami Subwoof adds just a bit at the bottom; SONIC SWEETNESS is the end result. Now I just have to hot-rod the crossovers, and I am totally done.

Presently listening to "King Crimson - The Young Man's Guide to King Crimson" on very old vinyl.

"Con Salsa" on WBUR-FM, streaming through Squeezebox Touch. Would have made me get up and dance 20 years ago.

Swearing. Much swearing. It's half past five in the morning, I've just finished replacing the top cover of an OM-1 after changing the prism and cleaning out a load of gunk - and I'm now looking at the door catch's return spring, still sitting smugly on the workmat.

Bugger.
