a beautiful artist die young (1967-2007) at the age of 40, same as Takeuchi Yuko...

this is a 2011 concert with her video image and a new band live...

'Make-naide' was a 1993 song written by Oda Tetsuro, Lyrics by Sakai herself

for a first time movie score composer, Sakamoto Ryuichi / 坂本龍 一 is quite impressive, he also starred in the movie opposite David Bowie in 'Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence' (1983)

i admire his huge talent as Both a composer and actor, great talent, Great work (how can he did Both job in the same time is beyond me)

he performed the music he wrote for 'Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence' in 2016 with Brussels PhihO, he was 64, 33 years after 'Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence'

i'm not too crazy about the movie, but it was directed by Oshima Nagisa, you know him; director of 'In the Realm of Senses'

before 1983, Sakamoto was writing and performing for his own band, 'Yellow Magic Orchestra', a kind of Japanese Rick Wakeman

KMHD, 90.1 FM

There are just over 40 dedicated jazz radio stations left in the United States — KMHD here in Portland being one of them. While some of my favorite DJ's are no longer with the station (or with us at all for that matter) and the programming itself doesn't appeal as much to me these days as it has in the past, KMHD continues to hang in there. I have been a long time supporter and still listen quite frequently, enjoying jazz in Portland while I still can.
