What are you shooting?

I've been tempted to start doing a "Pic-A-Week"; I'm impressed by those trying a Pic-A-Day, as that seems quite a challenge.

I'm winding down on my recent (several years) project shooting people at their work, and now broadening out into shooting people doing whatever, in an environmental portrait way, mostly with wider (28/35/40mm) lenses (or the equivalent in medium format).

I'm still intrigued by manikins (esp. realistic ones), after 25 years or so of snapping them, as I feel their presentation has something to say about real people. This is often a matter of luck, often a brief opportunity of events or light.

As my community changes over time, it's fun to document the businesses as they arise, fail, move, build, etc. And you never know what interesting stuff will be found in alleys!

And I also like documenting our travel, as there are interesting people and sights, and it helps in later remembering the places and details.

That reminds me that, in the travels, I may spot one or more instances of the use of a computer font (typeface) I designed years ago and released as freeware. If possible, I'll contact the user/business and ask about it and try to get a shot of them with the font-use item (book, sign, garment, etc).

So, what are you working on?
Maybe tell us some details,
What are you shooting with, how are you planning to present the images?
Most importantly, why are you shooting it?
Street life in Paris with a M9, presented in my blog
I shoot it as a memory book of my life and documentery of a period of time in that city. And because I find it an interesting activity.

What's the typeface you designed? I'm a type junkie, I have way too many fonts, lol.

Hi Chris... it's called Black Chancery. Here's a sample at a store called "Nature's Wisdom" in Idyllwild CA up in the San Jacinto Mountains. The ladies made us a banana smoothie no charge to celebrate the occasion. 🙂

Life as I see it; "documenting" the best, the worst and the ordinary (celebrations, events, beggars, street performers, homeless people, handicapped people).
Also whatever catches my eye as I walk about with my camera in hand (always).

I think the motivation for doing this was catching a glimpse of my grandpa's and dad's old photo albums.
Also Ansel Adams & HCB.
Making permanent memories of an ever-changing world to show the future generations, who might never see these things.

Animal photography (grandma's cat, actually…)
Why? I never have much to say to grandma, but we visit often, and we enjoy just "chilling" together, even if there's never much conversation. So what better to do when not talking than to get the camera out and make some photos?

i "document" the fish camp where i live: the cabins, the yard art, the miniature water/land scapes along the banks of the river, creek and slough, found objects, other river rats at the local cafe and churches; i also document my first grandchild and her parents ...
