My vote was for the Color Skopar 28mm 3.5 its the only CV lens that I have sold, just to buy it later on. A fantastic lens.
The other lens that I regret to sell is the Heliar 50mm collapsible f/2.
I also like the Color Skopar 50 2.5 for its solid feel.
My worst CV was the 25mm M mount due to the poor construction of the copy I had.

Leica M3, Color-Skopar 50mm f/2.5, 400-2TMY.

The 15/4.5 v1 was the first CV lens I bought in 2004 and still have it. should say something.
Now, I 've got the 21/4, and for $350, this value is unbeatable: used on film and digital, especially RD1s = 35mm FOV=great.

But the latest CV just last week is the LTM 351.7 since I have to sell my Leicas 35/1.4 Asph and PreAsph lenses. The sweet little secret about this CV lens is the IQ is often very difficult to tell apart from Leica Luxes IQ.

I narrowed mine down to the 35 1.4 sc because for my purposes it was all that made sense. Reasons being
1. My favorite digital photos were taken with a 35L on my canon 6d
2. I am only using M mounts on film, so a more classic rendering was important
3. Size. This thing is TINY and I love that about it
4. Value. Build quality/IQ is a fantastic relative to cost. The only competition imho would be an old summilux for vastly more money. I would love to someday get a 50 1.1 or 1.5, but I have an Amedeo adapter Nickel/Enamel 1934 Sonnar 50 1.5 I'm testing out now. I'm hoping I like it so I can resist the G.A.S
5. My M2 is my daily carry camera. It goes with me everywhere for whatever I want to shoot. So, if I need one lens and I may run into low light, this is the one that comes along.

I too had to vote Color Skopar 28mm 3.5 LTM. One of the best lenses I've ever had the pleasure of owning/using. Love that it is brass and so tiny. More importantly, it renders beautifully

I voted for the 1.1./50 and the 1.2/35 (II). The latter was sold eventually, the former is still in my possession from the time when the head bartender was allowed to do business with clients in Switzerland 🙂 If adjusted well, the 1.1/50 is a really lovely. As I mostly use it for what it was built for, I don't really care about the focus shift.

Used a few VM lenses now and my favorite is still the 21mm Ultron. Its sharp at all apertures, has lovely rendering and thanks to f/1.8 aperture it is very versatile. It is also plenty sharp for landscape, and do not has to hide from its only counterpart, the 21mm Summilux.
The Nokton 35mm f/1.2 II is growing on me too - lovely character.

The 15/4.5 LTM is the one I have owned for the longest time, and is the most unique and special. I am tempted to pick up the latest m-mount for digital. Also, the 35/1.2 II is working out extremely well for me. It gets me through the time of year when the days are short with its great performance at f1.2 and 1.4.

I've three CV lens 15/4.5 (ltm), 25/4 (ltm) and 40/1.4SC.

Optically all are great. The 15 is the least used which isn't a surprise as I knew when I bought it that any lens that wide would have limited applications. The 25 is so small and it's click stop focusing keeps it in contention despite also owing the Zeiss 25/2.8 ZM.

The 40/1.4 is my most recent purchase, I love the photos I'm getting but the slippery focus tab is taking some getting used to.

The only lens I still desire is the 28/3.5 LTM as I'd like a compact and sharp 28 to use on my M2 without needing a separate finder.

I have four CV lenses, the 21/4 LTM, 50/3.5 (nickel), 50/2 that came with the anniversary set and the 75/2.5. The last two have really grown on me over the last couple of years and I use them often. None of the four are slouches though.

The four I own and would have no problem taking out over my Leica lenses:

15mm f4.5 III
21mm f1.8 Ultron
35mm f1.7 Ultron VM
75mm f1.8 Heliar Classic VM

The 35mm f1.7 Ultron VM in particular is as good as either the Leica 35mm f2 ASPH or 35mm f1.4 FLE. In some ways it is superior, such as against the light. I own all three and the CV 35/1.7 is consistently a better contra-light shooter.

I agree with Greg. It is a very special lens. However, the old LTM Ultron 35mm f/1.7 is extremely nice too.

Leica M5, VM Ultron 35mm f/1.7, 400-2TMY, gelatin silver print.

It's all about size and performance for me, so I chose the only Voigtlander lenses I need that Leica don't do to the same degree; the Voigtlander 21/4 and the 35/2.5 in Leica Thread Mount. Both are TINY, ergonomically quick and well built as well as flexible. I can use them on my M's and LTM cameras. I believe this is why they are the most popular.
I have a good set of all sorts of Leica M lenses, like the 35/2 Type 1 and 50/2 DR to the 90 Summicron, but these little Voigtlander lenses are what Leica should be about.
