You sound surprised; I'm not. We photographers love nothing more than to argue over even the most inconsequential bits of equipment. On the other hand, a camera strap is only inconsequential until your Leica hits the pavement...Believe it or not, on the camerosity Podcast there is a whole episode dedicated to straps!

I think the brand is a combination the number 4 with a capital V.

I’ve been almost exclusively a Domke strap user for decades, but I decided I wanted to try something different for my Nikon RF gear. I picked up two Evergreen brand 38” leather straps from Amazon, they were reasonably priced and seem to be good quality. I also like the classic Leica M nylon straps with the rubber pads, I use those on my Ms.

I have PD Leashes and anchors on most of my cameras. A couple have a dedicated cord strap. I like the PD Leash and anchors since i take the straps off for a lot of my shooting.

4V DesignA leather strap I bought in a camera store in Palm Springs, Ca. Probably fifteen years ago. I’m not sure what the brand is.View attachment 4860513

I have been happy for many decades with the narrow black nylon straps that come in the box with new cameras. Easily adjustable and you can loop them around to make a wrist strap. Since I never buy new cameras, I just stop by my local camera repair shop and he tells me to pick out what I want from his big basket of them.
But I view camera straps the same as camera bags, strictly utilitarian. Anything that does the job works for me. And free is an unbeatable price. BTW, never had a failure or problem with any of them.

I have been using the Leica wrist straps 18782 (black) and 18783 (cognac) on my rangefinder cameras. They work perfectly for me.
