My M5s need red dots!
The biggest and most expensive accessory for my M5 came in today: a CV Nokton Classic 35mm f1.4 SC, purchased from Andrew (merciful), an RFF member.
I must say, he said it was used... but it did NOT show it one bit. I got the hood separately, from Adorama. I'll try to post a photo of the lens... as soon as I get my M5! 😱

This scenario plays in my mind whenever I think about picking up the phone to inquire about my M5.
Sherry is working on my camera. The phone rings. She gets up to pick it up... and a slew of screws, nuts, springs and other small pieces fall down to the floor because she got up a bit too fast and rattled her workbench in the process. She's not happy, picks up the phone... and gives me an earful. 🙂
I know she won't. In fact, she likes talking on the phone. But then, how would one react when interrupted this way?
Nah... If I can wait three months for Don to get back to me, I can give Sherry one more week.

In the meanwhile, I've been playing with the Nokton Classic 35mm f1.4. Nice lens! I may see some actual photographs tomorrow... and, who knows, I may dust off the Canonet! 🙂

Instead of wasting time, just give her a call if you feel like it. She is a night owl and will answer the phone or call you back. After 9 pm until late night is best. Sherry is THE BEST. Fun to deal with and a total expert, but she does not follow the internet platforms ...

Can anyone confirm this? According to the manual, one could use a 28mm lens, using the 90mm framelines as indication of the metered area. At least, the manual suggests this. This suggests to me that the full viewfinder covers the FOV of a 28mm lens (the 35mm framelines are very precisely determined, and don't occupy the whole VF).
Am I right about this or is it wishful reading?

Have you tracked down the best M5 accessory? The 1973 Leica Manual with Rudiger Krauth's handling instructions. Or a matching black BMW M5 to haul the outfit around?

I think my latest accessorization is the soft release I ordered from the auction site. After that, it'll be just like my other Leica bodies.

I use my M-Hex 28 with M5 using entire VF and it works OK for me. But I'm not big on 28mm in RF, so other lenses visit it more. As said above - larger lenses work will with it:

Before I forget: Sherry wrote back. It's a high bill, but I guess it's worth it. No info as for when the camera will be ready, but she tends to be quick after she gets an estimate approved.
