What Did Santa Bring You This Year? ~ Christmas 2010

I got a card from my dad with an M9 drawn on it and written "20% on me".
Not sure if I will actually take it 😉

A book:

Jim Lager - Leica Illustrated Guide II: Lenses, Accessories & Special Models

It will be in the mail from Santa somewhere this week.

Oh, and also expecting a IIIc Stepper (from Santa's helper Youxin Ye) and a beater M2, from Santa's 'eBay warehouse'.

😉

Only a DeVere 504 enlarger; a mint Nikon F4s; a Holga 120N and a fistful of FP4; a new Paterson film tank; a box of 10x8 Ilford multigrade - oh, and a copy of Ted Hughes/Fay Godwins' Elmet.

I've had worse Christmases. 😀

I got what is to me, the best bag period, one I've wanted for a while. A tan Filson 232 (Medium Field Bag)....

Sorry for the ramble, even though I'm 27 I just feel like a kid who got the coolest new toy 🙂 For a bag freak, it's a big deal haha, I can get rid of all the others now.

Needs a bit of seasoning. I got mine at about your age, in 1989. I used it as a shell bag duck hunting, then it became my wife's travel bag, then shell bag again and now my daughter wants it. It might make a great camera bag, though... When I look at it now, there are a couple of decades of happy memories in that canvas. May you see your's the same way years from now. (BTW: it never loosens up.)

Today...

1% of the Leica M9 (and memory cards and spare battery etc.) that I'm saving for, i.e. a check for $75 from the parents. Every little bit helps!

Love it! They age great, yours is proof.
Mine definitely needs some seasoning, this snowstorm is a nice way of starting out with this bag. My Filson duffle is about 5 years old and is nice and dirty and finally getting broken in.
I'm looking forward to filling mine with memories as you have yours.

A black Surly Cross Check for commuting in NYC and an Alec Soth poster from the Minneapolis art center.

Can't wait to rig up the Bessa L to the handle bars of my cross check.

Nothing photographic. But a reproduction WWII pilot's shoulder holster to take my revolver hunting and a nice Weaver 4x38 scope for my deer rifle more than make up for that 😀
