So, I'm assuming at this point that most people who shoot slide film have it digitized, and most often the pictures are viewed on the computer (correct me if I'm wrong). But, how many people also view slides the old fashioned way? As I get more into slide film I find myself yearning for a completely analog way to view them - either with a handheld or tabletop unit, or possibly a projector (I even have a screen already!)

So, what about you?

EDIT: I have allowed multiple selections so you can choose both handheld/tabletop and projector, if you happen to use both.

I get mine uncut so they're easier to scan in strips. Once scanned they go into regular neg sleeves which make them easy to look at on a light table.

That's what I do too. Lately I've been using the last remaining to be developed in bw chemistry. As a personal project, that is.

I view my slides on the light table first. Then I select the good ones for projections. I also scan the keepers for digital archival and printing/enlarging.

Cheers,

I'd like to do this. Do you know if Dwaynes will do this to Kodachrome, and will Fuji do it as well?

I scan them. Gonna pick up a Pradovit when it surfaces locally - already have a nice big screen.

I much prefer slides mounted, makes it so easier to edit when you get many rolls back form the lab.

They are made for projecting. A slide show is an incomparable treat. Anything else is second best.

I also leave my film as uncut strips to allow easier scanning. I have a projector, but I never use it. I scan so I can make exhibition prints, so I can put the images on my website, and so that I can have files to sell for stock uses if someone wants the image.
