What do you like best about your M?

I can shoot Leica, Nikon or Canon. Nothing and I mean nothing burns silver on acetate like a 50mm summicron. Not to say the a 35 ASPH 'Lux and others I have are slouches. The 50 has always had that something I can't describe that is just sooo nice. A 75 1.4 @1.4 is also just wonderful. Not that 1.4 is the sharpest apeture but you know, you just know it was that lense.

The SLR lenses I have and they are good ones are no match. And I guess that is a shame in some ways. Maybe it is their lack of character. I had the CV 75 for a while and is was good but boring.

I like that it's quiet, small, light, discreet, and I can use Leica lenses. Oh, and it just looks mawbelous.

With thanks to Lerner and Lowe:

"Damn...Damn...Damn...Damn...
I've grown accustomed to her face

She almost makes the day begin
I've grown accustomed to the tune
She whistles night and noon
Her smiles, her frowns
Her ups, her downs
Are second nature to me now

Like breathing out and breathing in
I was serenely independent and content before we met
Surely I can always be that way again

And yet I've grown accustomed to her looks
Accustomed to her voice, accustomed to her face

But I'm so used to hear her say "Good morning" every day
Her joys, her woes, her highs, her lows
Are second nature to me now
Like breathing out and breathing in
I'm very grateful she's a woman and so easy to forget
Rather like a habit one can always break and yet
I've grown accustomed to the trace of something in the air
Accustomed to her face. . ."

The reason why I like Leica and more to the point my M3, everytime I shoot with it, I keep the memory of my dad alive.

I like mine because it's smaller than the Mamiya Universal, and the pictures, up to 8x10, are almost as good. Almost.

the fact that I own a Leica M, but don't have a lens yet .... I love to fondle it, feel the weight the touch and feel factor.... I will be getting a lens shortly, and I sincerely doubt that after having acquired the lens I will be able to come up with anymore arguments ..... It's actually like buying a porsche motor car ... many others don't have one, and it'sd clearly reckonisable... people however do come up with excuses like bokeh, and out of this world quality .... hmmmm, all very subjective ... but leica is leica, and some og the best photographers in the world made use of one ... (and all because at the time there weren't any digitals available .... ! :) )
