What do you MOST regret buying?

Contax RTS then RTS2. Dreamt of them when I was a kid. Bought what seemed like really nice examples used. Both became dead electronic bricks in short order.

A Tokina 500mm mirror lens in Olympus OM mount, at a camera show in 2001. I didn't have an OM mount camera, but assumed the mount was interchangeable. I was soon disabused of that and found an OM-G body, compounding the error even further with 50 and 135mm lenses. Not that it's a bad kit, I just did not need another mount system.

more like out of control

My regrets are based on buying more cameras than I can possibly use. One inherited Canon L1 led to 3 more Canon rangefinders ,2 Leicas, 1 Contax G1 kit , Epson RD1 another Nikon F (my first SLR) and 2 Canon eos 1, Canon 30d, Canon 1Ds and Mirrorless Eos m.HELP!!!!
I must be turning into a collector😱

a de vere 4x5 enlarger. it's just taking up space, having given up trying to find the accessories i need to use it.

Yashica T4, because it almost never focused where I wanted it to.

Nikon D200. Sure, I used it hard for years, but the sensor was mediocre when it came out and downright obsolete soon after. Also the auto focus did not agree with me.

Sigma 18-55 el-cheapo DX lens. A true dog, terrible in the corners.

Digital, Canon G1X first version. Good large sensor and nice lens, but horribly slow autofocus. At the time I was watching Fuji improving their firmware gradually and providing updates while Canon did absolutely nothing.

Film, mid-range Canon FD bodies. Plastic parts flimsy and overall feel of camera unconvincing. FD-mount is awkward if compared to Nikon, no wonder Canon dismissed it in favour of EF-mount. Bought those out of curiosity and sold soon after.

"What do you MOST regret buying?"

"What were your must have photo dreams,

that got you wishing for your money back?"

I would love to get my money back for my first SLR, a Miranda Sensorex, because it was not dependable. However, I do not regret buying it because it formed my appreciation for more dependable photographic equipment.

I would love to get my money back for my first zoom lens, a Nikon 43-86mm f/3.5, because it had horrible image quality. However, I do not regret buying it because it formed my appreciation for the much improved zooms that came decades later.

I most regret selling, not buying, my two dream Nikon F2 Titanium bodies.

Canon 5DmkIII, as an upgrade to my 5DmkII. Just a couple of months later, they come up with the 6D, that has better ISO performance and built-in WiFi and GPS. In any case, with hindsight I should have ditched Canon then, since they are clearly resting on their laurels and uninterested in improving their increasingly uncompetitive sensors.

Several Nikon lenses that turned out to be just blah..., Nokton 50/1.1 from the head bartender before anyone actually reviewed it, Pen F half frame cameras, Leica R bodies.

A Pentax MX. I enjoyed shooting the first couple of films but it developed a problem with the mirror and eventually - after a couple of trips for repair - i ended up selling it. It was nice while it worked though...
