I found an "as is" Leica body on KEH this morning described as "LEICA STANDARD MK I CHROME SELF TIMER INOPERATIVE" and bought it because the price was low enough.

My question to you experts out there: What model do you think it really is?

Reply here and I'll update once I receive it. Ah, mystery!

Their designation of "Standard MK I" is a little ambiguous and inappropriate, so it's hard to guess what it is. If it is really a Standard, it was first offered in 1932, alongside the II, and will have standardized mount for interchangeable lenses. But the "I" they stuck in there could mean it's really a I, some of which have a standardized mount, and some not. I hope someone at KEH didn't think the I and the standard are the same thing.

Worse than that. It turned out to be a Leicaflex Standard. Crud. I feel like Charlie Brown after getting nothing but rocks in his Halloween bag. Back to Georgia it goes; the last thing in the world I need is to start in on yet another SLR series.
