I don't think 6 lenses is excessive (around here, anyway!), particularly if you're thinking you'll add an M8 to the remaining R-D1 at some point. Good Leica mount lenses don't seem likely to decline in value any time soon, but I fear the R-D1's resale value is headed only downward.
My advice: Sell one of the R-D1 bodies while its value will still cover the cost of the X100, and keep the lenses for as long as you plan to use a Leica mount camera. (To paraphrase Clemenza.)

As a two lens user, I think you have too many lenses. However, only you know which ones do not see any use at all. If something is not being used, then sell it (it's a good time to sell). If something will be missed, don't sell it. With regard to the bodies... sell the lamer of the two and go on with life.
how DO you get along with just 2 lenses?

If I HAD to, I could get by with a 28 and a 50mm with my film RF's and SLR's.

I'll answer that: He buys and sells faster than some of us can swap lenses on a body.
As a 5 lens user, I will say 6 is excessive. But not seriously, if you like them and use them, I would keep them.

Well, I just like 35mm and 50mm the most for what I do. 28mm and above is too wide for my general photography and 75mm and longer are just too long... like I'm photographing through a telescope. I can use these lenses, but generally do not.

Excuse me sir... ? You should change that to he buys and sells anything that isn't a 35mm or 50mm faster than ...
With 35mm and 50mm lenses, I'm a bit slower to buy and sell them.

John, I was just teasing. I know you won't be swapping bodies any time soon. To be honest, I only use my 28 and 50 most of the time, and would get by fine without the others.
