What does the + icon signify

What does the + icon next to the subject header mean? I tried searching for a listing of the icons, but didn't find any. Is there such a list?

click on "forum" and roll right down to the bottom of the page.

Moving + :new post. Not moving + :no new post.

I understood the icons on the main page. Its the ones on the secondary pages that confuse me. I've figured out some, but the + seems to elude me. Its shown on old replies as well as new replies, so there is ome other significance to it. Also, the ones on the extreme vertical right.

See the attached image.

In my instance, the blue square denotes new posts that I haven't yet read. The + shows up with that icon, but also on many replies that go back for quite a few days, and have long since been read by me.

The envelopes on the right, some with people, some without, etc. The one with the person seems to indicate that I've posted in that topic. The envelope on fire means Hot topic no doubt. The one with the letter sticking out may mean I haven't read it (seems redundant with the blue box icon as they always seem to be together), and the one wit the lock is self explanatory as well.

Is there a listing on the forum that shows these icons and their meaning?

Damn! Why did you have to bring this up, Stephen?! I never took any notice of these icons before! Now I'm intrigued and want to know about it! :bang:

Sorry RML....it probably the same reasons why we all want to know how TMAX looks at various exposures, development times and solutions.... we are a curious bunch!!

OK...here's what (I think)i've managed to figure out in the <2 months i've been here.

The little envelopes: Flames: indeed, hot topic. Letter half-way out of it: new reply after my last visit. In your example it's hot topic + new reply. Little guy: somebody is peaking into that thread right now.

Blue box icon: if you click on it, you'll be linked to the first UNREAD reply in that thread. I use it always in case of popular threads like "camera and coffee":)

I also noticed that these all need some time to change. If i get into a thread with "unread" replies and get back very fast, it still shows there are "unread" replies. Pressing "refresh" makes it change.

The plus signs in this case, i also don't know:)

Ahh... the plus means there are attachments:D
If you go over it with your mouse and don't click on it, the "alt" text appears - and it says how many attachments there are in the thread. In internet explorer 6 at least, it does.

using your mouse ,hold your arrow (or whatever) over what you want to identify and it will show you what it means.

I tink the little person next to the envelope means its a thread the view has reponded to. Either that, or there is someone reading all the threads I've replied to, and no one is reading any of the others !!! Man am I popular!! :D :D :D :D

I tried that, but I don't get the tool tips or pop-ups. It might be disabled in my explorer. Dunno... But I got the info I needed so far from this thread.

Thanks everyone.
