Got so inspired I visited the local English Pub last night. Only place in town with a decent shelf of single malts.

I had one glass of: Oban, Caol Ile (thanks for the recommendation Roger) and Talisker.

Had a glass of water after each whiskey, no trouble today, I'm fine.
 
If I'm going to drink alcohol, I really like IPAs. Usually what ever is on tap, but I really like Sierra Nevada Torpedo. But usually, water.

My Italian grandmother (rip) and later my mother (rip) made the most absolutely delicious salad from dandelions. Yep - weeds. OMG it was out of this world. Didn't know you could drink it as a wine. (Then again, didn't know you could make a salad from it...)
 
gb hill - I can drink regular wine but the thought of home-made ones still send a shiver through me. At 13 me and two school mates got horribly drunk on the broad-bean wine one of the guys mothers made. Violently ill is an understatement 🙁

My ethnic background(s) have to duke it out with one another so when it's not Jameson/Powers (yes Roger, Tullamore Dew sometimes too) It's sometimes Aguardiente. Terrible stuff.

This conversations brings back memories of bottles of Old Granddad consumed in the darkroom of the Berks Camera Club. Tastes surprisingly similar to Dektol.

Interesting! I bet it would make a good salad. My friend picks them while they are still yellow flowers & freezes them. I don't know the whole process but it takes quite awhile. It's similar to a white wine, yet very smooth!

Oh my! that reminds me of the cheap Thunderbird wine I use to get drunk on when in the Navy...never again, unless I want to commit suicide!😀
 
Too much talk about "bouquet" and not about "vision". Someone mentioned absinthe, that can make you blind, but still has that good ol' pre war look. Another good contender is Galician orujo, made from wine drab. Never had better visions - and opinions! - after a few glasses of this mind bogging white spirit. Much more revealing than any transcendental meditation course. Better than Bolivian snow flakes to spit TRUTH from your lips onto the ignorant.
Only thing is after revealing, the picture doesn't come out as clear as you thought it would. But hang on & over, the day after tomorrow you'll find out for sure!

Oh, and why is coffee supposed to break the day when you can stay up all night with a few ristrettos?

Recomended literature: Moskva-Petuski, Venedikt Jerovejev (French title: Moscou sur Vodka)
