R6.2 with an 80 Lux for body cap. Dreamy portrait lens that's tack sharp when stopped down, like two lenses in one! The APO Macro Elmarit 100 would be my second choice.

Oh! Or a Leicaflex SL/SL2 for a body would suffice, especially if you like match needle meters.

My situation has slightly changed: will be spending a couple of weeks in October in Argentina, Terra de Fuego, Ushuaia, glacier park, and two weeks in Buenos Aires.
I'm having two Leica M4s, a 21mm and a 50mm lens plus the Mamiya RZ system, which is clearly too heavy & big to take on that trip.
Also, my budget has somewhat increased and I have $3k, maybe $4k to spend. That would either give me a Makina W67 (wide) which might be great for the landscape photos in the Argentinian State Parks, but is less suited as a street shooter in Buenos Aires. Maybe another cool M with a 35mm lens? Repainted M4, original black chrome M4, something along that line? If I'd add a 35mm lens it would cover both landscapes and city shots while traveling lightly. I decided against Leica R because I don't want to invest in a system that has no future.
Any thoughts?

What film system has a future? They are all the same as long as
film availability remains.
Be careful in some areas of BA. My girlfriend had her head smashed on the ground and her purse stolen while they held me off at knife point. I know some here will think we were just stupid tourists, but honestly... we`ve both traveled a lot and both grew up in or have lived / are living in major cities (NYC / Santiago). I photograph in Santiago, Chile a lot without incident. I have photographed many, many other places without issue. We were one block away from a very touristy section. While in the police station, there were 4 other people that got mugged as well. Luckily one of the guys that did it to her was caught, she went to court, and he got 8 years in prison (she had papers from the hospital showing that she might have permanent injuries from the incident). The thing is that in the various sections, I did not see many people with cameras or even phones out and about. People seemed to dress down on purpose. Electronics are extremely expensive there i.e. sometimes twice as much as the US. My thoughts are to bring something you don`t mind handing over ... or insure if expensive.

Mamiya 7 with a 65mm lens would suit you pretty well I think.

Take $799.00 and send it to the Head Bartender for a Voigtlander 35 2.0 Ultron ASPH. Having owned a Summicron ASPH for many years, in the short time I've owned this lens it's amazing how good it is for the price. Then you'll have plenty of cash left for another body.

You could get an original M4 in black paint for around $3k or less if you're lucky. I ended up buying 2 of them, and they are just so beautiful. That, plus a 35mm f2 or f2.8 would be an amazing kit. It would fulfill your black chrome/paint M4 desire, and expand your lens selection to 21/35/50! Additionally, it seems pretty clear you like your M4's (as do I), so another familiar and beautiful M4 black paint could be just ticket.

Sorry to hear about your horrible experience!!
I hear you and having been in Buenos Aires already 9 times, I know exactly what you mean. I have relatives and friends who live there who are seriously rich, dress down, never wear jewelry or watches in public, drive old used cars to not attract any attention, and are very careful when they move around. There are many neighborhoods you simply cannot go because you might not come back alive. I won't take my iPhone, no watch, and I favor one small and discrete "vintage" (= seemingly old and worthless looking) film camera that doesn't attract much attention. I also carry a fake wallet with a few pesos and keep my real wallet hidden from sight under my cloth.
I think you are telling me exactly what I want to hear! 😀

M lenses can be used on digital bodies, so I'd rather stay in the M system for the glass.

Yeah it sucked but we survived and we have been back. You have more experience than me there, so I’ll leave it at that. Enjoy it!

I absolutely am, but it's because I'm completely sympathetic to your pursuit. I have 3 M4's myself, and even though I don't use them every single time I'm out, there's something about the M4 that really just suits my style of shooting and aesthetics. Best of luck on the decision, and hopefully you find the perfect camera for you. I'd also suggest, if not looking for an M4, you could get a used MP in black paint for less than the M4 in black paint. It gives you a different look but an amazingly capable and beautiful black paint M, and with a meter.

I remember selling Olympus Mju IIs when they were new. They were amazing, but I'm not sure the lens is anything to write home about.
Sell the F3 without hesitation. You have plenty of cameras you ARE warm about. Keep the lens for the FM2, which is the more desirable camera. Or maybe get out of Nikon altogether. If you appreciate a nice shutter sound, get an Olympus OM1N.
I just got a Nikon One Touch L35A3; the 3rd generation of it, but still with a good 4-element 35/2.8 lens. I'm currently awaiting a battery in the mail; I can't find one locally. My grandpa had one of these, and I have fond memories of him walking around, looking really dorky, with it hanging sideways on his neck. 🙂
Keep the Fuji XT-3 without need for apology. You can use it to quickly scan film. Keep the Instax too, it's a nice niche.
Add a Rollei 35. It is a(nother) cult classic pocket camera. The One That Started It All. The lenses are very good, even the humble Triotar is very good. The Tessar and Sonnar are fantastic. Use the proceeds of the Nikon sale to get a really nice one that has just been CLA'd.
How about a fixed lens rangefinder? The way you list your cameras, you mostly keep one lens on them anyhow. You like a nice 50 mm prime, so how about a Yashica Electro 35? Or Konica Auto S2? Either of these make your M4 seem loud, by comparison.
Alternate plan:
Sell an M4, sell the Mamiya, sell the Nikon SLRs and one of the Minoxes. Then, get out and shoot more.
Maybe the saddest point in my photography hobby was one evening, I was inside surfing ebay for more cameras during the golden hour of photography outside. "Self, what have you become!? :bang:"
