I'd like to learn to use a flash.

What flash do people use with their FSU?

I've got a Zenit E and Kiev 4a.

I was looking at a Promatic FA 1000.

For all of my gear including my Kiev 2a and 4a I prefer the Vivitar 283 or 285 flash..

For my m4/3 gear, I use an Olympus FL600.

For my Epson RD-1, I use an old Vivitar 2500. It is small, lightweight, but it can bounce and has a zoom head for different focal lengths.

I don't use flash on my cameras too much so these options work very well for me.

I haven't been using flash as much lately, but I generally have a Vivitar 283 or 285. I also like the Sunpak 322. Smaller, lighter, still has enough light for most situations, plus lays down and swivels and has power settings and auto; hard to beat.

I don't often use flash but when I do it's likely to be a Sunpak Auto28SR. Two auto settings plus manual from full power down to 1/32nd power. The head can be aimed pretty much anywhere while the sensor still looks ahead. Cost me 99p off Ebay! I also have a small manual-only gun that's more pocket-sized but less powerful.

I used to have a Vivitar 283 years back, excellent flash and well regarded. Not that it's relevant for an FSU but they have a high-voltage trigger circuit so not advisable on an electronic camera.
