what guitar/s do you play? : wildly OT

Fender Stratocaster 57`Relic
Homemade Strat madeup from various parts.

Amps:
67` Marshall Plexi 50w
Fender Deluxe Reverb
Apollo 1(Dumble ODS clone)
Apollo 2(Trainwreck clone)

Lots of pedals 🙂

I used to play a strat copy and a les paul copy but I got bad tendonitis while trying to play again after a 20 year layoff, so I gave it up. As well as fixing up old cameras I was finding and fully restoring old Tube Fender champ amps and vibro champ amps at least 6 of them and about 6 more of the Gibson kalamazoo amps. Whole lot easier than fixing cameras...

Home made ( "ben-o-phonic" perhaps ? ) square neck dobro

I used to have a 3/4 size guitar that I found in a trash pile. I fashioned a bridge from a few pieces of a broken ruler. It was my only guitar after I got rid of the Tele and Alvarez. It sounded surprisingly good.
I called it my Gene-O-Caster

Air guitar. It's a leftie 😉

Yeah, I'm leftie also, that's why I only use left-handed cameras 😡

But I play a cheap-as-shit nylon acoustic (now featuring 1 missing head turner tuning thingy). I don't seem to pick up the electric (LH Les-Paul copy) as often as I used to these days.

I've always wondered about the wisdom of learning to play left-handed. Not a criticism, but it's just that when we learn to play we're all ambisinistrous (incompetent with both hands) and thus could learn right-handed in order to make life a lot easier buying instruments in later life. I am, of course right-handed and so it never occured to me to play the "wrong way up"

A postscript to this is the story of a family of English gypsy mouth-organ players who played the instument backwards by alternate generations as they all learnt sitting opposite their parents and copied their movements.

Electric:
Dan Electro
1960's Japanese Mosrite Copy

Amps:
1962 Fender Champ
1968 Fender Bassman
1972 Fender Princeton Reverb

Acoustic:
50's German Made Archtop
70's Canadian Made Classical

Why do I always pick expensive hobbies?
:bang:

An old Japanese Fender jazz/p-bass hybrid copy from the late '60s is my only gee-tar. To say I play it is an exaggeration. I'm bad--Danny Partridge bad.

O, I forgot. I'm rebuilding a mini-acoustic that I bought. New bridge, nut and fingerboard. Then strings. Gonna be a gift.

The only instrument I was ever any good at was the trumpet and at one point in my life thought about being a professional musician. Wish I still had my horn, although my neighbors are probably glad I don't.

When I was unemployed a couple of years ago I started to teach myself ukulele (it was cheap fun) but never got very far with it. Still plunk around with it occasionally though, along with an old Harmony tenor guitar, a Samick 6-string acoustic, and a mandolin.

I've still got my old black P-Bass copy (no name) that I played in a band in the early 90's ... Like some of my cameras it was customized 😎 ... A friend of mine built me a 2 band EQ/Pre-amp that we fitted under the scratch plate and I added a Hipshot E string detuner. I haven't picked it up for years, I only keep it for sentimental reasons now 🙁
