Went to the drugstore yesterday to buy a battery for my M6. Looked all over for the CR 1/3 battery, but they were "all out" said the clerk. Went to another drugstore (bigger) and got same story. Went to local photo repair shop and they said that the CR 1/3 are no longer available. WTF? I must have a half dozen cameras that take this battery (Leica and Nikon) and I prefer loading one battery than two (they get lost in the bag otherwise).
Can anyone tell me what happened? Is this the way the Illuminati are going to drive me to digital? Not by eliminating film, but by stopping the supply of batteries for on-board meters?

I was just in Radio Shack the other day and they have them there. But as you note, 2 X 76 or 44 will get the job done.

Energizer calls it a 2L76, but I see them in most places

Sanyo in bulk are very good value:

Buy 10, they have a very long shelf life.
