There's this wonderful thing that was graced upon mankind (and womankind - gotta be politically correct about it ) that's called choice. When a person comes into contact be it visual or auditory etc with something that he finds offensive or personally vulgar, it is entirely possible to remove himself from the situation.

Choice for the win.

Ok Mr. Choice here is one for you:

I am absolutely fed up with advertisement, I can't stand one more advert no more! I see it everywhere, in the movies I see on TV and Cinema, in the streets, in posters, walls, in train stations, even on public toilets.

So what can I do? where is my choice?

you can stay home.

I'm so far to the left that I think Trotsky was too conservative. This has nothing to do with conservatism or religion. I wasn't offended by the original posters photos, which was nicely done and tasteful. It was the other posts that reminded me of an online equivalent of a bunch of drunken horndogs sitting by the stage in a topless bar. Problem was, this isn't a topless bar, its a photography forum. The issue was respect for our fellow human beings.

Agree with Chris 100%

Perhaps it should also be mentioned that this is a privately run website and the owner can place any restrictions that he wants to and no one has any unalienable right to post whatever or comment whatever. He could say you cant come in wearing a flannel shirt, or I can't park my Volkswagen in the parking lot. It's his bar.

If photography is to be considered art. Is it not true that we must allow the reaction and interpretation of all those viewing this art. If one person has a reaction that is deemed sexist by another? Whose place is it to put the sexist individual straight? Is it the publics responsibility to protect all persons who may be offendable for whatever reason? Where do you draw the line? Seriously Where ? Personally I find age-ism far more offensive than sexism. Women are just as sexist as men if not more so. Men get a worse rap as women are often thought of as weaker and in need of defense. I can tell you that of the women I know. Many are far more offended by this sort of misguided chivalry than the sexist remarks that the Moralist police are trying to squash. Give it a break. You want women here that want to be among the real men of this community. Or would you like to give only the false image of as "safe place". I hate the idea that women are thought of as lesser or weaker than men. I surely hope some women of the few here will issue their feelings on this regard.

'Nuff said.

It always amuses me when people moan their rights to express themselves - in a forum owned by somebody else, for which they pay zilch - are being infringed. Tough.

Sure Paul
And the forum. Is it a forum if opinions are not expressed ?

If there were no opinions here would there be a forum or just a fan club ?

Reasonable rules sure. Censorship on an art site? Bizarre !

Yup, that's my opinion. Does not have to be yours or the owners. But without opinions what would this place be........

You have GOT TO BE JOKING!!!!!!:bang:

why do you think i'm joking? i found it offensive and expressed it.
it's very telling that so many people are offended that i don't support what i see as exploitative art. i'm being called conservative(and retarded!) for no other reason than not liking sexist images. what about my right to NOT like the same garbage you do?

i think that kind of art is amateurish and boring. in my opinion it's no different than using one of those lame starburst filters, gimmicky crap designed to get attention the easiest way possible. if you want to look at porn, go look at porn.
and for the record, i didn't post in the original thread. i only said i was happy the thread was deleted because i think it was offensive.

Who is mistaking this for an art site!

Now THAT is funny!

As long as they leave the Cam Glam threads alone, get over it.
