Paul Ebel did my CLA - good work and turnaround time at a good price too. Just throwing this out there as another option.
Paul did good work for me, too. I seem ti have misplaced his contact info and cannot find pointers to him on the web. Is he still working?

Hmmmm. I have a clean 3.5E (Xenotar) that was CLA'd by Harry Fleenor a couple of years ago, and a clean 2.8E (Planar) that was CLA'd by Krikor Maralian and re-cemented by John Van Stelton (how's that for name dropping?).
They just sit while I chase my kids and take the odd picture with my DSLR. I'll have to think about putting them on the Classified section....

$1200 or moreso what's a reasonable price for a late model 2.8F with Planar lens?

The 2.8C, 2.8D, and 2.8E models or any models with the 2.8 Xenotar are cheaper, but not exactly cheap if the condition is good. The Xenotar is a killer lens of course - just lacks that Zeiss name appeal.

Where does the f/2.8 Zeiss Jena Biometer fit in this, as far as both image quality and price?

Not sure about the Biometer - I think this are fairly rare.

Ok, I admit to being a gear whore. (GASsy, I believe the local phrase is...?)
But returning to photography as an adult without children making a decent wage, at a time when film cameras of my dreams are now going for relative peanuts, I've been unable to control myself.
And I jumped on an auction site's 2.8E with Planar a few weeks ago ($550 without bidding wars!!); finally got it here in Africa. (This is what's happening to the Rollei supply!) Shot a test roll today. Holy crap. Even though the negs are still drying, I can tell this lens is something special.

I have my 2 Rolleiflexes so I'm happy. One with Planar, one with Tessar.

I found a baby for $150 with new (blue!) leather from Cameraleather on it...case, strap, everything.
Hoping it'll be just as much fun and even more portable. My first TLR was going to be a baby, until the guy at the flea market (at a photo counter) realized that it took 127 instead of 120 and through his honesty smashed my teenage dreams.
Time to order a big brick of 127!!

I bought an extremely clean, mechanically perfect, 2.8F Planar with prism and a case that fits the flex with the prism attached for just over $900 5 years ago.
That was a steal.
I just looked at the completed listings for 2.8Fs and the prices don't seem crazy to me.

at these prices, it looks like I'll be shooting my C220 w/105mm lens for quite a while longer. At least until the house is paid off

I have a F3.5 I bought from Krikor. It's one camera I decided to keep when I thinned my collection.

KEH seems to have a few and my Google search turned up a few more. I love my Rolleis and I'm so glad I had no luck in selling one of them here a few months ago. Now that I'm retired I have time for a bit of slow photography!
