I will shortly be putting my Fujifilm X30 up on the auction site 'for parts or repair' as it has given up the ghost completely. Looking round the web it seems that the problem, which is related to the turn-on/turn-off ring round the lens, has been common since the X10; you would have thought Fuji could have corrected this by the time the X30 was rolled out. Although a rather limited camera by today's standards, the X30 was a convenient size, adequate for most situations and capable of excellent results. In particular the fixed compact zoom lens covered a range of about 28-110mm, which is the range I like to work with.
PS. Please excuse my optimism in terms of selling it!
