Absolutely agree that you should consider picking-up a Bessa to fill in the RD-1 downtime. Or, how about a useable M2? (As opposed to a collectible sample.)
Glad that Robert White's team have been able to help you with the repair. Robert's shop is my favourite - it's like having a cozy, local store anywhere you are. They are so knowledgable, helpful, polite, and trustworthy.
I am interested to hear of the results of your sending the camera to Epson. As I mentioned, yesterday, one of my units should rightly be serviced, before it's too-late.
(When these cameras become irrepairable, I'll need bereavement counselling.) Please post details of the repair outcome, if you have time.
Hope your Epson is soon back in eager hands, and pointing towards all the shiny, optimistic faces of your 'crew'.
