I've been eyeing a user M3 at my local shop. It's serial # is 9 million something, don't recall the exact no. It's finder looks clear, nice clean curtain, though they tell me on the slower shutter speeds it is a bit hesitant.
The body is silver, and has minor scuff marks here and there, no dents as far as I could tell.
What else should I be looking at or for?

Actually the serial number range is 900xxx.

If the camera is dent/dings free and does not need new curtains $450-$600 is a good starting price.. CLA's generally run $300+- depending on who you send it to.

Hi,
For dating it, the sn is likely 9xx xxx as Leica hasn't made M3s to the nine million mark.
I would buy it for around 450-550 USD and send it off to Youxin Ye for a CLA. He will set your M3 straight. Email him with questions, etc.. wye7@yahoo.com

you're correct on the serial no. My bad.

thank you so far to those who've answered. I recall them saying it had been serviced, though not knowing how long ago or by whom, I agree it would be good to send it in for a CLA.

checked again, they are asking $600 for it. It was serviced in LA back in January of this year. (International Camera repair). Anyone have experience with this firm?
