There is no reason for any bashing to begin. Ilford has always been a fierce competitor, with a halo of prestige of its own, and perhaps not a single inch less good than Tri-X, although the look on the prints is quite different. But the halo of the film legend, which may carry also its good dosis of prejudices, has fallen upon Tri-X.

By the way I dislike Kodak company concerning every thing darkroom related and will not be surprised if some day they kill Trix-X as Olympus killed Maitani. But facts are facts.

Real film gourmands though relish the rare opportunity to taste once again some very fruity Agfa Ultra 50. There's something quite delectable about it.

PS I recommend that you never cook in excess of 100 C or you'll have complications and a loss of flavour.

Of course, the correct answer to ANY question with a combination of the words which, b&w, film, best, most, better, or grain is Tri-X (with HP5+ a very close 2nd).

Ah ah.
Fuji solved this by putting a self-sticky-tape instead of a lick-it-yourself-tape on their MF film.

The worst glue i tasted was on czech postage stamps.

OTOH, i am sure Forte should taste the closest to Goulasch...
Maybe even closer than the "Goulasch" they try to sell here at our cantine.

Pherd, I forgot about that MF glue taste treat! Fuji has gone modern but some haven't like Shanghai. Glue taste tests usually boil down to 'least offensive'

Now I get it:

Neopan tastes a little like Suchi.

HP5+ tastes like beef vindaloo.

Tri-X is a little similar to a big mac.

Lucky tastes like spicy pork.

Agfa tastes like bratwurst.

And Efke has a similar flavour to potato vodka!

This reminds me of the only joke I know that simultaneously offends people of four countries:

"The problem with the Canadians is that they could have chosen American technology, English culture and French cuisine; but instead they chose American culture, English cuisine and French technology."
