what is the longest you have held onto a piece of photography equipment?

You kids don't stand a chance. I got my first camera, a Kodak Brownie Flash Six-20 with flash, sometime early in high school. Got my Kodak Tourist II with 800 shutter as a junior or senior. Graduated in 1954 and still have both cameras. So the Brownie would be 60 years old and the Tourist almost 60.

I've had a Kodak Brownie Starflash since 1958 and an Agfa Isoflash Rapid since 1966.

Anyway I found a way to stop GAS. Trick out your rig with so many extras, cameraleather, customized wheels, etc. so it will too expensive to sell. Huh? Cool, right?

Does that stop GAS? I thought GAS was about being unable to control the urge to buy new stuff, not the urge to sell old stuff.

My very first SLR...a Vivitar 400/SL with a 50mm 1.9 & 200mm 3.5
I've had it since 1976 and it still works...I picked up a non-working body to steal a few parts from it to repair my first camera...
I don't use that camera anymore but last year bought another working body to use with some Takumar lenses I've been finding...
Next would be a Vivitar VI enlarger with Color Head...bought it new around 1980 or so...I still use it...

Come to think of it, my mom presented me with my Konica Auto S2 over Christmas. I first got it when I was 14.

I still have my first Instamatic my parents got me when I was about 3. That was only about 1000 years ago, in pretty good shape (the camera) :)

Also still have my first "real" camera, my Nikkormat FT2. Still in use every now and then for fun, what a tank!

I still have the first camera I ever bought, a Canon FTb. I also have the first camera I ever used, an Argus C3 that belonged to my father.
