"Best" is such a hard word to deal with, but "probably the best" thing I learned here is that ....
there are some very intelligent people who disagree with me at times 😱
Well, I won't come to the defense of NY either, tho' it is my birthplace and home. I do suspect some folks find what they are looking for.
As for what I have learned here: mostly that good photographers are in the habit of seeing things better than most other people. I am trying to follow their lead.
I have learnt that I am not the only die hard shooting film and loving it ! That making a good photo is like a family recipe. We all have our own individual ways and all are equally valid. One may love Rodinal and all but bathe in the stuff, whilst another may hate it passionately. I guess I have learnt to respect difference and celebrate it.
I've learnt 2 things here.
a. The correct camera bag is proportional to taking pictures.
b. Constantly sending your camera out for repairs to correct the viewfinder makes better photos.
Hello there,
It seems to me that the greater lesson from RFF discussions is that simple cameras leave more space for creativity and fun.
I am having great time with my ZI ZM + Biog35/2 just looking for great images and not struggling with million buttons and various metering possibilities.
Thank you all my RFF friends.
The most important thing I've learned is that there's a pretty large community of serious and knowledgable RF and film users out there. Sometimes it can feel a bit isolating being the only one around that still shoots film, so I think this forum is a reminder that there's a much larger film culture that still holds a really deep body of information. Sometimes I'm amazed at how there are all these people here that have had decades and decades of experience and all I have to do is post a question on this forum to get often dozens of generous replies.
In internet photography forum land coming to RFF feels a bit like going from high school to uni - suddenly you realise that you know bugger all and all your work sucks.
