Right now, I'm trying to blow past the last of my TMAX 3200- that was a beautiful glowy look for night shots- I'll miss it

After that's gone, the only B&W films that draw me in are ACROS 100 and TMAX 400 - never tried TMY - Acros has me smitten

I regret never having a chance to play with TXP 320 in 120

Just tried Eastman XX for the first time, and I'm sold. I still have plenty of HP5 and FP4 too, both great and dependable films.

Recently ordered some Kentmere in both 100 and 400. Shot some of the 100 before and liked it. Having now shot about 4 rolls of the 400, I find I like it quite a bit processed in DD-X using Ilfords times. Actually prefer it to what I was getting with HP-5. If I need less grain I really like Delta 100.

I'm currently shooting a lot f HP5+ and Adox Silvermax 100, simply because I got a great deal on big quantities of them.
I really loved the few rolls of Rollei RPX 100 that I had, as well as Fuji Acros 100.
Acros is just too expensive though, and I will be ordering the Rollei RPX 100 when I've spent the Silvermax film I have. Adox Silvermax is a great film as well, especially for scanning. Huge latitude and fine grain, but can look some what "digital" (more so than tmax).

Tmax400 (TMY2). If you want a fast film, but fine grain, there is no better. Sharp! The film is coated so it will not damage during the scanning procedure. The translation of the colors into grey is wonderful. The tonal scale from the darkest to the lightest is larger than with TriX so the images are less graphic but more painterly.

Neopan Super Presto. Since this film is long gone now I am still looking for something that comes close. Delta400 might be it for me.

For me it has to be XP2 super! THE TONES! It may not be a true BW emulsion but i just cant say no, second would be ilford Pan F 50

I started out with 400 ISO film speeds (HP5 and Tri-X) because that's what everyone seemed to be using (which this poll largely confirms). However, I have moved to FP4 because of the much smaller grain size and only go to higher speeds if I absolutely have to. 400 is just too much grain IMHO.

Right now I am shooting this film as fast as I can put it through the camera.

Of course, once I run out I may find something different. Like Arista EDU Ultra (Fomapan) 400. I have several 100 foot rolls to work on.

When I run out of that...

Well, I'll worry about that sometime next year since it will take me at least that long to get through what I already have. Who knows what will be for sale at that point in time.

:D
