HP5+ for me.

over all (Kodak Ektar 100) I just love this film

T-Max 400 is a versatile film that I shoot at different ratings with happy results. In wintery Seattle a modification of the sunny f/16 rule to cloudy f/2.8 generally works, and this film gives good results rated at ASA 800. On a bright day the film works well rated at ASA 200. So if I'm packing only one film, this one is it.

It's been Tri-X for me for a few years, but I'm thinking about going back to 100 ISO. Just bought four different ones to compare: Acros, FP4+, Delta 100, Tmax 100.

Eastman 5222 Double-X, which comes in 400 foot and 1000 foot rolls. This should be available well into the future, being a Cinema-Division product. And I figure it's costing me about $1.89 for 36 exposures.

And also Tri-X.

I voted for HP5 as I'm assuming you are referring to 35mm films and it's my favorite there. The film has a "sparkle" that I love for 35mm use. You can nicely push it or hold it back to squeeze out more light or control contrast .

In 120 (and 4x5) I love Tmax films. The Tmy400-2 is a fantastically versatile film and dries flatter than other roll f I have ever used.

I haven't really decided yet but Arista EDU 400 gives me good results. Only thing about this film is that I'm not too sure it pushes well. Been meaning to start a new thread about it.

I voted Tri-X, but I will shoot basically anything that I can load in to my cameras.

TriX for the mid-tones and push ability. In 100, Delta.

For 35mm it is difficult to better Tri X, although when the light is good i find APX 100 to be slightly preferable. In MF and above HP5+ is probably the best film there is.

I think my favourite was Adox CHS 100, now sadly gone so I need to work out a favourite 100 iso alternative once I've used the last of my rolls. At 400 iso it would have to be Tri-X. Though I'm really enjoying Rollei 400s. I've never been too keen on HP5+, though I use it quite happily if it's all I can get my hands on in a hurry. I suppose I really need to invest time in getting used to shooting and developing HP5+

Delta 100 looks great in Pyrocat HD, but so does FP4+.

But I plan to try more of Across 100 as I heard a lot about that combination.

Darn. Forgot PanF. Different films in the arista line are manufactured by either kodak or ilford, depending on who you ask.

I don't think Ilford make anything for the Arista brand. You might be thinking of Foma? They certainly produce the 'EDU' films anyway.

I voted 'Other' as I'm working my way through my last hundred roll box of APX100. What happens then I'm not sure - either some variety of Ilford or Fomapan emulsion I suppose.
