What is your most FUN camera kit ??????

Don't know that I have one- been thinking on this one for a while now, but can't come up with a favorite or most fun kit. I think the stuff I shoot most is what I've chosen for the near seamlessness or invisibleness of it- nothing in the way of just seeing and getting it on film.

I almost always have fun with my gear (if not, I sell it again!)

Really great are:

DSLR:
EOS350D with
- Sigma 17-70 (nothing fancy but really fun, and that was the question, right?)
- Tokina 12-24 (such a great lens!)
- Jupiter-9 (for portraits)
- Tomioka 1.4/55 (for low light)
- EF 1.8/50 II (because I am constantly amazed that such a cheap lens can be so good!)
- and some others

SLR:
Zenit EM with some M42 lenses (just pure photography)

And, finally, Rangefinders:
- FED-3b with Industar-61 and Jupiter-12 (excellent results for a fistful of bucks)
- Minolta Hi-Matic F (no manual control whatsoever - and thus the complete opposite of the FED-3 - but a very reliable littel cam!!)

Well, as I said, shooting is almost always fun for me!

Fun? Eva's fun to use, having no reliance on any powersources and generally reliable in operation. The only problems are her user, but experience will help with that one. 😉

Seeing peoples expressions as well, when they see a Leica in use, or when they're told it's a Leica (after they ask, due to them never having seen a model e before), ah... 🙂

For me the most fun kit is my beat-up M4-P with a CV 35/2.5 and a Luigi leather wrist strap, a real workhorse kit. However, I have to differ with you Ray. I like this older fully manual camera precisely because I don't have to "think about it." I don't have to worry about getting into a mind-set with this camera. It's old school photography, and I'm well acquainted with that. It is also so ugly that I don't worry about it as much as I would my M7 or my DSLR.

🙂

Ray,

Interesting way to phrase it. I think we are really trying to say the same thing.

My quote on "thinking about it" is relative to the composition and light, or in other words seeing the photograph first vs. worrying about all the camera menu options, etc...

Using my little iiif, really brings back the joy of just photography vs. camera manipulation.

Best,

Ray

Leica IIIc + 50/2 Summar.

I have many cameras that are much better and easier to use with sharper lenses, but this one is just fun to use.

Several cameras are fun to use, but for me the Pentax 6x7 stands out. Big! Big controls. Big viewfinder. You know you have something significant in your hands. After you press the shutter release, you know an event has occurred. And you know you'll have a big luscious negative to admire later. 😀
