Stupid polls about what M camera is best. How could I vote for an MP if I only have M4s? Why an M2 would be a better M than an M4 is beyond me... ;-). The results of these polls probably better indicate which Ms are owned by the members. Therefore the present poll. You can indicate more than one camera!

MP and M6TTL - both Chrome. And, oddly, I like them both equally (I had expected to favor one over the other, but this is not the case... of course they are different viewfinder magnifications).

So far 15 votes with 23 cameras, makes 1.5 M cameras per RFFer on average... I would have expected more cameras per person, but let's wait and see.
EDIT: Magus, what you really want is an M5... The last M before they got it wrong and haven't really got it right again

HuubL,
I own an M6 and an M2. I use them both a great deal and find, for me, they each provide a different shooting experience. The M6 is an amazing tool and I use it in almost a "stream-of-conciousness" manner. It allows me to stay involved in a moment, move through it, while shooting at the same time. It's very much a "working" camera for me.
My M2 is my favorite camera to use when I just want to go out and shoot for enjoyment. The body fits nicely in my hands, it's so quiet and I love the way it returns me to the basics of photography. The simplicity of the camera is also what makes it elegant to me.
Anyway, I agree with your approach. I think the only way to know which M is best for you is to handle different bodies and find which one(s) speak to you.

M2, M3, M4-2, M6TTL (black), M6TTL (silver), MP, M7. The poll is skewed since you only let me vote once for the M6TTL, and I have 2. There are probably others in this category with multiple Ms of the same type.

That's true. At least we get a lower bound, though.Mike Richards said:The poll is skewed since you only let me vote once for the M6TTL, and I have 2. There are probably others in this category with multiple Ms of the same type.

You're right that only one vote per camera is possible. I have two M4s and could only vote for only one :-(. Also, stupidly enough I forgot to indicate that I have an MDa and couldn't fix my vote.Mike Richards said:M2, M3, M4-2, M6TTL (black), M6TTL (silver), MP, M7. Your poll doesn't include M's that one has owned in the past.

Only one and I don't intend to buy anymore, there is no need with an M4 black chrome.

I'm here with: M5, M6 classic, .58 M7 and .72 M7
M7 wins by a whisker as my favorite these days, but the M5 is right up there. The grip may bring it to the lead.

Everyone needs, and many have, an M3.
