What new Voigtlander RF or SLR product would you like to see?

Cosina should offer Micro 4/3 lenses for available light photography.

Right now, there is no competition whatsoever (unlike the M 35mm market which is
almost saturated).
The offer from Pana and Oly is awefully slow.
and unadapted to available light photography.

Make me a 25mm f/1.4 (50mm eq.) or a true portrait lens (45mm (90mm eq) f/2.0) for the E-P1 or the G1 and I'm a happy guy! I bet they would sell like crack cocaine on a hot day!

Right now, everybody is recycling their M-lenses into digital photo via
these little micro 4/3 adapters to use them on Panasonic G1 and Olympus E-P1.

This is great, but we can't take advantage of the compact form factor
of the micro 4/3 format and we still have to deal with the stupid x2 factor.


This demonstrates there's a market for folks who demand prime lenses, digital workflow, but still, don't give a damn about auto-focus!

Cosina should build manual focus (unless it already can manufacture auto-focus) lenses for 12mm (24mm eq), 17mm (35mm) and either a 25mm or 45mm (90).

Make them now and take the competition by surprise!

All the gear pornography put up by people showing off their G1 (or E-P1) with some exclusive prime should give you a clue...

Try to search for "G1 voigtlander" or "e-p1 leica" on Flickr.com...
 
1. A compact 35mm camera with a HUGE viewfinder. I wish they'd omit the built-in flash, in favor of a straight through brightline viewfinder - like on a Rollei 35 or Agfa Optima 1535. No squinty little mirror assembly.... Flash could be separate - either have a hotshoe, or an accessory flash like an Olympus XA. Or, skip the flash altogether, i don't care.... The lens would be like a 40-50mm. I'm torn between wanting a collapsible, manual focus 50mm and a quiet-ish autofocus.... Oh, well. It's just a dream, either way....

2. A small SLR 6x4.5, built like a Pentax 67, but much smaller. Say, the size of a Nikon F4. Two lenses: 75mm and 45mm. The 75mm would be f3.5 and would perform like a classic Rolleiflex lens.

Nikon already makes that camera. It is called the FM3A.

Introduce a set of brightline finders with a bubble level built into the view.
I spent the dough on a double shoe and spirit level from cv and find it really poor in use.
Even a center cross hair would be quite usefull.
For 28mm and wider finders.
 
Well, I noticed as I started reading through this long thread again that back in April of last year I had asked for a medium format folder with switchable masking and the Heliar, and even proposed calling it Bessa III. Completely forgot -- and thanks, Cosina, for making it happen. Can't afford it now, though.

So, let me try again: Why not a TLR with the 3.5 Heliar? Or a Color Skopar would be OK, I guess, but the Heliar would be really something. I suppose 12/24 is too much to ask, but why not? I can't recall if the Bessa III takes 220. Crank wind, knob focus, f2.8 viewing lens, meter (TTL through the viewing lens would be totally great). Call it Brilliant or Superb, for old time's sake.

I know this sounds like a Rollei, but I'd buy a new TLR that's not a Seagull and lots less than the latest Rolleiflex.
 
Half-frame. I've got an array of RFs and SLRs, and I still love the half-frame Oly Pen EE-3, and lemme tellu why.
It lets me shoot insignificant pictures, pictures I might not shoot with a normal camera; so I shoot more, and let me tell you, I get some good shots. And even when the pictures aren't good, at least they're smaller.
I'd go for a new one, and I'd trust Kobayashi-san to pic the specs himself. There are lots of ways to do it, but basically, a NEW quick-n-easy film camera that gives you 72 exposures out of a roll of 36.
Nobody else will do it. My vote won't count, so if you're not a half-frame fan, don't sweat this vote...

i am waitung eagerly for mor lenses espacially 75 in leica bayonet and in a more modern design like the 35 mm pancake or the 35:1,4. the metering rings reminds me too much of lowcost slr lenses of the seventies

OK, I still would like to see an R camera set up for longer lenses to accompany the R4.
And I was thinking that a camera with something like the old Canon style VF--three position varied mag. finder for 35, 50, and 90 would be very good as well.

How about some lenses dedicated to the micro 4/3rds system? I think Cosina would be very competitive there. And a viewfinder for the Olympus E-P1 should be popular as well.
 
To make it REAL NEW!

A tough all metal, mechanical miniBessa, just with very basic commands to make it really compact, in format 24x24mm with a reduced, fixed 40mm 1.4. Great to explore the very enjoyable square vision without the bulky Hasselblad...

As the lens must cover a square and not a rectangle, it would be even tinier than actual 40!

You make a good, even expensive but really tiny camera, and the stock gets sold for sure. The format is really just like the whole 24x36mm. After a week of wonderful shots posted, you would wish you made a few thousands more of them... Even meterless it would have a strong character of its own. That could give a hand with size and price too...
