lots of superb M or LTM lenses that would amaze you. Hexanons are only one brand of many that have absolutely stellar performers.

I've fallen into a Pair of Leica's with lenses at an "antique shop" before. For $15 each. That is the fun of collecting. The Konica 28/1.8 stays on the FT-1.

Craigslist for $80: Hexanon 28/1.8, 40/1.8, and 57/1.2, all latest versions with green AE. All mint--not eBay "mint", but truly mint, with caps and cases.
Same for the AutoReflex T3 and Gossen Luna Pro that were included. (I won't mention the diopter correction eyepiece, hoods, literature, filters, flash, etc.)
I had a decent set of Hexanons for my FT-1. Now I have a better set. 😉

That is a nice fine indeed. Truly we can depress others (and each other) with our "falling into..." stories.
I manage to resist the temptation to tell some of mine, so I'm not going to start now 😀

Anyone used a Hexanon 35-70mm f4 AR zoom?, I'm tempted by one - auction ends tonight. I don't often bother with zooms, but if this one is of similar quality to the AR primes......??

Well - I never got advice on this one, and chanced a bid - but was beaten to it in the last seconds!. But I'm still pleased, as I won a mint 135mm f3.5 from the same seller for £15 - and that incudes the shipping!🙂

After seeing Shadowfox's pics using the UC 80-200 zoom, I got a mint
copy and second his recommendation:
Taken last year using expired Kodak Gold 100. Camera body is a Konica T4
which has a shot meter (I have two of these both meters are kaput) and
either use Sunny 16 or a handheld.

Dave, yep, Will made a believer out of me!🙂 I got the 3.5/55 Macro-Hexanon for $27 (shipping included) last year as well:

I didn't know this thread would start all this! I'm pulling back from more acquisitions for a bit, as I am building a small OM flash kit that I need for a small personal project next month.

Despite the fact that I disagree (at least across the entire line, cf Zuiko 21/2, 90/2, 300/4.5, etc.), this project is a subset of my Kodachrome last hurrah effort. I am going to make semi-formal portraits of my parents (in their mid-80s), and due to season and venue, daylight only exposures probably aren't an option. The OM flash capabilities are quite sophisticated, and the 50/1.4 will do just fine, thank you. 😀
The rest of the project will be shot at least partially with Zuikos, so I want consistency.

I got myself a Konica Autoreflex TC with 40/1.8 AE lens from Foto Bären in Zurich today, for EUR 46 (CHF 63), complete with two 36-exp. rolls of Tmax400.
Neat, actually: the 1.5V batteries make the meter go 'off', seller told me to value 200ASA film at ASA50 on the camera. I want to expose the 400 like 1600, so I have to set the meter to 400 and remember to push-develop two stops.
I'm looking forward to home-soaking the Tmax in Rodinal.
Other observations: I took my M6 with me on this holiday and the TC is hardly any bigger than an M6 with 35/2.0 L-Hexanon lens mounted. The film cranks are almost similarly bent and have nearly identical plastic tips. The swing of the cranks is almost equal, the TC is a bit shorter. If only the TC had a metal top and bottom, like the M6...
The TC is in as-new condition, the leatherette hasn't even started shrinking, what were they thinking? 😉 Lens is clean too and came with a Konica cap, no hood.
I might get myself an 85/1.8 in due time to shoot portraits with, too.

Just bought a working Konica AutoReflex TC with a mint Hexanon 40mm 1.8 AR for 20 sek (aprox $2.40) Quite pleased with the lens, have just developed the negatives, and they look so much more "interesting" then my Nikon negatives.. But I get som strange light leaks or reflexes on some shots.... dont know if the camera have light-leaks or if the lens just handels straight light extremely bad..

I use the cool looking square 24mm/28mm Hexanon AR hood also my 40mm/1.8. It works OK.
