what p & s do you have?

Far too many... Olympus Stylus Epic, Olympus Trip 35, Minox 35GL, a couple of APS cameras, and I'm sure I'm probably forgetting one or two.

EDIT: I knew I forgot one... Olympus Pen EE-S, sadly not functional at the moment due to a sticking shutter.

My Rollei 35 is P&S size, but being a mechanical camera (except for the meter) in which aperture, shutter, focus, and film speed must be set manually, it's not quite what most people would consider a P&S. My Oly C-3000 digital is usually classified as a P&S since that's the way most people use it, although it does have a full manual mode in addition to various partial to full automation modes.
 
My P&S is a Minilux. I like it because it can fit in a jeans back pocket (to me, this is what defines a P&S!). Previous P&S included Olympus XA2, Minox GL and Konica S3. Also had a Hexar but it was a little bit too big (superb lens, though).

It used to mean a compact camera where all you had to do to take a picture is aim and press the button (point and shoot).

How do you avoid sitting on it?
My favorite P&S is a very rare Panasonic C-D3100ZM. This is a plastic case version of the Leica C-3 which is made by Panasonic. As far as I can tell it was only sold in the USA in some midwestern Wal-Marts specially packaged for W-M. I got the last one for 60 bucks (they were listed for $76 and change) on a visit to Cleveland three years ago. There are web descriptions of this camera on some Panasonic website in Japanese, Chinese (Taiwan), Finnish and Estonian indicating that it was sold in those countries as well. I had no idea as to what it actually was until later, I just bought it because I liked it. The lens which has identical specs as the Leica is described as six elements as opposed to seven elements for the Leica but I think this is a marketing concession. One element is aspherical. It is small and very handy but like its Leica counterpart not spectacular. I also have an Olympus mju panoramic and some 1980's P&S's which are full size.

Olympus Stylus 140- good when I know I'm going to fall down hard.

My wife has a Stylus 80 with panoramic mode that has taken some amazing pictures.
 
Pana 3100 and leica C1 have the same 38-105mm lens, but not the same specs, Leica 7-element 7-group, Pana 6-element 6-group. Imagewise, not too much difference I think.
C1 carries 28-80mm.
most Leica P $S are made in where else, China now.
My P and S is WP-1, Canon, I have two of them, one made in Taiwan one in China. Somehow the Chinese one is a bid harder to open. Also have a Fuji DL Mini zoom, 28-56mm, excellent lens but, f4.5 and noisy autowind. Fuji's F2.8 (24-50) is cheaper than Natura, should be a great street camera.
Lately got a Haiou 205A, or Seagull 205A, w 4-element, 38mm 2.8, rangefinder, no meter. The 38mm I believed Haiou copied from Canon's Autoboy stuff. Very small, smaller than G-III, think I'll put in a roll to see how it performs compare to Autoboy's 38mm 2.8( or Canon Supreme).
Watch a documentary, Arakimentari, Mr. Araki used a TC-1. That dirty oldman shooting private parts of a lady and shout, PINK!

I think the WP-1 is the newer version of my SureShot A-1.
When I was looking for a cheap underwater camera, I noticed the A-1 was listed as "waterproof" to a certain depth and the WP-1 was only listed as "weather proof" I think they're the exact same camera.
I've used mine 10 feet underwater without any problems. I also use it if I think its gonna rain. Works great for when you don't want to think about shooting, you just wanna shoot.
 
Olympus Stylus 140 zoom. Nice and compact, very pocketable. Very rugged too, it has survived a number of spectacular snowboarding wipe-outs, and has always worked great.

My Panasonic 3100 was made in Indonesia. Incidentally I have an Autoboy with a 38mm f 2.8 bought in Japan by my father in law for my son which he doesn't want as he has gone completely digital.

I take photo notes with an Olympus C390. All one can do is P&S. My other original P&S is a 111b with 25mm Skopar or a Canon f2.8 50mm set for hyperfocal distance.

Disclaimer: I have no impulse control when it comes to buying the things that catch my eye. I bought a car on a whim once even though what I was driving was perfectly fine and good.

Could have sworn I had a couple others...but that's all I could find right now in my basement camera corner. Course, that's more than enough really...most of them never get used anymore. I tend to grab the GR1v most often...I just love its size, form factor, the SNAP mode, etc. Plus, it's already dinged up a tiny bit so I'm not worried about banging it around!
 
I have an Olmpus 35SP, and a Canonet 17. However, my usual P&S is my Toshiba PDR 4300, unless I specifically want a film P&S. Funny thing is, my Fujica ST 901 with a 28mm lens is as small as many people's P&S, and smaller than some.
 
I've no film P&S anymore, having recently sold the Hexar Silver and Leica Minilux. What I do have left is a Konica-Minolta G530 ultra compact digital P&S which I keep in a shirt pocket when I don't have my Bessa-T or Nikon D50 with me.
