And most often my issues are resolved with the "I'm feeling Lucky" tool. Opens most RAW files. Just added the Panasonic DMC L10.
Why pay money.

Epson RAW, ADOBE lightroom, CS3 or Aperture, etc?
For Epson always PhotoRAW with sharpening in Elements. I find that PhotoRAW to other photo software is what Word Perfect 5.2 for DOS is to other word processors A tool that always works, is simple and fast and does the job. How I miss 5.2
For other pictures Capture NX 2 and Elements. If PhotoRAW could read other raw-files it would be used the most. Alas not :bang:

Lightroom. For things that LR can't do I use Photoline (http://www.pl32.com). For bigger prints (upsizing) I was happy with Benvista Photozoom. By the way, Photoline is a very good 'replacement' for Photoshop. It has an enourmous set of features, runs very stable on Mac and Windows and also imports many RAW formats directly (R-D1 also supported). Among most 'cheap' or free image editors it has at least two important advantages: full 16Bit support and color management.

I've been using Aperture since it was launched. I've also recently downloaded the Nik plug-ins very impressed, I'd taken a quick look at latest Lightroom 2 to try out the adjustment brush and decided too much effort to re-import everything.
Aperture or Lightroom - on the Mac you have the choice
for the rest .. sell your PC and get the choice lol
