For those of you who use the gallery or classifieds, what's the verdict?
Do you understand all the features, and how to change themes, home page etc ... ?

Just looking for feedback since this creation has been evolving over the years.

What do you think of the user profile page on the gallery?

Actually at least the red "new today" sticker confuses me because it becomes a very part of every picture that is affected.
And I would appreciate a similar optical appearence as the forum / the former gallery.

My add posted in Auctions is gone. I paid for three months. Auctions are gone.

Gallery is just as forum. I knew you have to move to new engine for security and such, but from user view I prefer simplicity of old RFF forum.

I tried creating an account, it brought up my current RFF username. Asked that I set a new password, I did.

The confirmation Email is not coming through. I tried signing in to the gallery, and get

We sure hope you saved your password somewhere safe. What you entered for credentials won't cut it.

Checked the Spam folder. I remember a stalled Email queue years ago for confirmation- problem must be back.

To add: I verified that my RFF username and password work here. The username is used for the gallery, but the RFF password does not work.

Brian, I just did this too. It took about 15 minutes before the confirmation email showed up in my inbox.

Thanks- I will check.

15 Minutes. Jorge must be using a 300Baud dial up modem. I can see a TI Silent 700 hooked to a PDP-11/34 right now.

Well.... i know upgrades were needed, but the entire user interface isn't that friendly.....a bit like going back to MS-DOS..... compared to other forums with a lot of content, such as the Large Format Forum or the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum. Apart from the red banner, the classified look like a disaster....with only a few items. The search function there brings up nothing. Like KoFe said....what happened to the pre-existing listings? Sorry, but the whole forum isn't that user friendly.....

OK so I just tried to upload my first picture to the new RFF Gallery. It did not go as easily as I'd like. It's more efficient to add details like lens, film, exposure etc at the time of upload rather than have to make a separate edit afterwards. The upload dialog box didn't give me any option to do this. If it does, it's not obvious.

As far as the look of the gallery goes I prefer to see smaller thumbnails with basic information like User, Views, Date Uploaded and Number of Comments underneath, similar to this.

I think the New Today banner detracts from the look of the gallery and the pictures. If you include the basic info mentioned above you won't need it.

Thanks for all your work,
Cheers,
Lynn

Hey, are you doing something? I'm getting pop up errors on this page and new password for G@C pages is not working after few hours from reset.

I agree with Lynn on this point.
Next question: is it normal I need a new password if I want to go back to the gallery a few hours after I visited it and I kept that password?

I have it working. Uploaded an image. The increased size limit is great for some landscape format shots, including especially landscapes.....

This is how it works, without any help to figure out.
This thing consist of two different parts now. One is forum and another G@C. They are so different and not really connected as result it holds only user name, but can't handle same password across.
So, to be able to deal with G@C, I had to get its auto generated foot long password. I was not able to find how to change it in G@C, this part seems to be missing.
By my normal assumption I changed from this foot long gibberish where password change is only available. At the forum. But since forum is not connected to G@C engines, it didn't changed password for G@C.
To make it works, I dig more and here it is https://www.rangefinderforum.com/services/edit-password
Copy past this generated password and enter new one as it is at the forum.

Re : Classifieds

The old classifieds seemed to be more seductive, more character in visual and approach, included more info

New Classifieds are cold, plain & barren in their selling points
Not Descriptive enough
Leaves one thinking or having to ask:
*does the buyer have to pay mailing costs, Paypal Fees
*where is the Seller located, etc

I don't see the "old number of views" for my posted images. I used to use the "views" as a metric that showed me "level of interest" in my posted images. It now is shown as views 0. It's a new start from scratch then.
I had RFF send me a PW for the Gallery. Then, I may have changed it, but I don't know to which new second PW. I don't dare to log out of RFF for this purpose. I will stay logged in "forever"? Oh well. When RFF will ask me (eventually) to update my PW, I will then most likely need to know which PW I used to use there. Then, the game will start again ... I will need to ask RFF for assistance.

I can log into the main site, but all attempts to log into the Gallery/Classifieds have failed. I tried recovering my password, and received a message that my email wasn't found. So I tried setting up an account with my email, and that failed, too. So it's a total fail from my perspective.

Getting error page when attempting anything on gallery on iPhone- seems to be ok on iPad- ???

Update- Gallery Password Reset Email got through.

And it contained a Password,

Which does not work when trying to log into the Gallery.

My RFF password still works.

Something is broken.

Before the site update I linked a picture from my RFF Gallery to post #3724 in the Post your film images here thread. The picture has disappeared from the post. I tried to edit the post to embed the image file again, using the url of the image in the new RFF Gallery (https://www.rangefinderforum.com/services/photo/305386), and I got an error message: "invalid file".

I do not know how to complete the "Image Properties" dialog box when I try to embed an image using the "Image" icon. I need to know how to use this dialog box to add an image from the new RFF Gallery to a post in a thread.

I haven't yet checked whether all the pictures I've added to posts in the forum have also disappeared from the posts.
