I'm considering adding a Canon RF camera to my collection.
I don't know much about these and I wonder is someone can tell me what to look out for when buying one of these second hand. If someone has a way of checking the shutter (speed) in the shop as well, that'd be great too.
 
To familiarize yourself with Canon rangefinders, take a look at the Canon Museum website:

There's a distinct break in Canons' starting with the V-series. Older models are much like bottom-loading screwmount Leicas'. Newer models are more modern (hinged back, etc.).

Good advice! Also if you buy, do so from a dealer with a good reputation. Checkout feedback, a good dealer Wants you to be happy, Wants you to have a satisfying outcome, Wants your return business, and good feedback. By the way Canon makes some good hardware.😀😀
