Rebel Without Applause
Last night I drove a few hours to see the band Pavement as part of their reunion tour - and a warm-up for their Coachella show.
The venue said they allowed cameras, so I packed my M8 and a couple of lenses for the girlfriend as well as my E-P2 and a 50 1.4 & 80-200 Pentax lenses.
As we got to the door, security searched our bags and said that nothing with a detachable lens would be allowed - not even the normally harmless M8 was allowed entry. We ran back to the car and I stashed my E-P2 and a couple of lenses in a secret pocket in my bag - once inside, I thought I was in the clear...
...and then I realized that I had nothing to mount the lenses onto the body.
Needless to say, I had been experimenting with pseudo-tilt shift photos (think Lensbaby) and was happy with the results.
So, I shot as much as I could holding the body with one hand and the lens with the other - moving the lens at different angles trying to get some DECENT shots.
They say you're most creative when you have limitations. Here's what I was able to get:
What do you guys think? I'm really happy with the dynamic range and the low-light capabilities of the E-P2. It has exceeded my expectations. Can't wait for the firmware upgrade next week - that'll be nice.

In this case the old saying is really true, better to take pics then leave with out them. And considering the circumstances, stellar work. Is the exif data on these correct? If so then I'm surprised and pleased on ISO 1600 performance here!

the Stephen Malkmus picture looks really good. the last one of Bob N. looks good too.
Don't think I'll catch them this go-round though, saw them plenty of times back in the 90s.

1) 800
2) 640
3) 1600 for the Malkmus shot
4) 1600
5) 1600 for Bobby N.
jvan - if they do come 'round your town, I'd recommend seeing them. It seems like they were never apart - and they sounded amazing as they always have.
