I have an m4 midland selling that for $2194. Also have an MP, M2 black repaint, M5, M8.2 & M262 can’t shoot them all, what else do I sell?

Well, I have MP, M2 and M262 myself. So I would keep those.

M5 in increasingly unrepairable if anything goes wrong (so I’ve read). M8.2 is the most desirable of the first digital Ms, and unless you just LOVE it, would make sense to sell ….

Good luck.

If in decent shape, the M4 Midland might be my keeper, but I'd see if a dealer wanted to handle the M8.2 as IME, selling M8/M9 is a job best left to professionals.

In the spirit of this thread, and addressing guys mosty, it is possible to attract a crowd of men with some sort of mechanical device. If it makes noise, even better. Have you ever noticed the number of guys who will congregate around a machine with an engine on it? And then there are the small, intricate mechanical devices, like cameras. Woohoo! Yeah, for some reason stuff like this seems to work well for guys. And some women. But it is almost a 100% guarantee for guys, Guns, fishing gear, motorcycles, ATV's and so on. But for quiet contemplation cameras and the associated gear are hard to beat. At least around here. ;o)

Sell my gear??!! Pry it from my cold, dead fingers. LOL

I am a Woman ...
possibly a gearhead over the years which gave me a great understanding
of Glass & Bodies

now I just SHOOT

FWIW I’ve never sold any of my cameras or lenses acquired since the 1980s. The only camera gear to leave my possession was stolen from home in the early 90s.

I say if you like having them around, even if only to use/fondle occasionally, just keep them (unless you desperately need the cash …). OTOH, if they give you no pleasure, flog them off without a second thought.

Over the decades I've bought and sold so much gear, I sometimes think I missed my true calling in life - to own and operate a camera shop.

Now in my retirement and soon-approaching dotage, I have shelves of gear I no longer use. Of my 12 Nikon lenses I rarely use at least six and I have three I've not even one time used.

Partner and friends all say sell, sell, sell. But is this the right time to put this gear on the market??

Economics do play an important role in these decisions. Think about your markets before you dispose of any of your nice Leica bits and pieces. Listing a camera you bought for $6000 on Ebay, only to get bottom-feed offers of $500 for it, is one of life's lowest moments.

Think it all out before you decide. Do you really need/want to sell? What are your reasons, psychologically? Do you need the money? Do you want to replace old gear with new, or clear space? Are you being pressured by someone to do this? Is there a reputable used camera dealer in your area who will sell on consignment for you?

All food for thought.

Or do as some have suggested. Keep them, play with them now and then, enjoy them. Try to use every camera and lens you have at least one time if not two times every year.

This is my planned project for 2024. Whether I do it or not, well...
