what to look for when buying an xpan?

i know this is probably covered in the forums.
could someone just help me out again?
havent had time to digg all around the forum site.. sorry 🙁

how does one check the counter again?
above what number would you consider it too "high" and "used"?
does the body serial number mean anything?

For the Xpan 1/Fuji TX-1 with camera turned off depress the AEB button on the back of the camera and keeping it depressed, turn camera on to the "S" position.

For the Xpan 11/Fuji TX-2 with the camera turned off depress the triangle button (top one) on the back of the camera and keeping it depressed, turn to camera on to the "S" position.

Each unit signifies 10 exposures - it is normal for even a brand new camera to show 200 as a result of testing during manufacture (according to the user manual)

Yes, you can tell the year of manufacture from the serial number, as kindly pointed out by Jim Watts,

hasseblad serial no. decoding/dating sequence.... 1234567890 =VHPICTURES.

Therefore the two letters in the serial no. = the year of build.

e.g. mine are S H so the year is 02.
