What was Leica thinking?

The word from leica is NO GO on frameline replacement. It's not a big deal and i'm certain that there was no fraud intended. It will just take some getting used to.

On the 90mm frame I don't have a problem. The only reason I have an issue with the 35 frame is the long span where there is no reference to the edge. In a horizontal I don't really miss the bottom but in a vertical i use both sides for reference particularly with wide lenses.

Thanks for the help!

Just got my M7 with a .85 finder and there are only the two short segments on the bottom frame without the corners. Not a surprise when you see the LED light up in the center. With the 35mm frame its really not a problem as the viewfinder view limit is just along that edge also and so 'frames' the 35mm fine ( no glasses but a correction lens ). I was a bit surprised at the 50mm frame with the same gap as the LEDs don't seem to intrude into this frame and the 50/.85 would seem to be an ideal combo to get it perfect. Would have been nice to have corners with the 90 too, but then this is the way its been for some time now. As you noted, sounds like the same frame set as the MP - Why couldn't Leica make a design in a high priced camera like the MP just for that camera?

Best,
