leica CL with 40mm F2 'cron
i tasted my first blood with a Leica CL with 40 f2 summicron with 90mm f2.8 TE (compact) ,
i was a SLR shooter, a small kit of CL taught me that 90% of photography can be done with set, how compact and small a set can be, i added a oly T20 flash for it, i still repent to sell this set w/o thinking

My first Leica was a beautiful Barnack IIIf purchased from Don Goldberg, who had just overhauled it. At the same time I bought a Summicron CM 50mm f2 from Sandy Ritz.
I caught the bug and soon thereafter I began to build my collection of Leica gear, which has grown to 14 bodies and 44 lenses plus numerous third-party LTM and M bodies and lenses.

M6 "Classic" with Leica 50/2 current version, both used, from Don Chatterton. I still have the lens (needs to go to Leica for repair), but sold the M6 back to Don after I got an M6TTL.

M3 SS also from Don Chatterton in 1990. Used it with a 35 Summilux bought used from Bergen County Camera for $750. I remember thinking why so much money for such a little lens but it made and still makes lovely photos. Mostly I use an M6 .85 and a IIIc but I still have that wonderful old M3. Joe

Mine was an M6TTL that I bought from a RFF member, and a 40 Summicron. I no longer have either, but made some of my favourite photos with them.

First Leica used: dad's M3 SS with 50 DR 'cron.
First (only) owned: M6 0.85 with v.4 50 'cron and 'lux ASPH 35. It's now got the MP optics, and I've changed the glass to two C-Biogons: 21/4.5 and 35/2.8.

Leica M6 (classic) and 50mm Summicron tabbed version.
I've had many different other Leica cameras and lenses, most of them resold or traded, but these have been with me since the very beginning.

A black chrome M7 and 50 Summicron. I'd love to have a black paint M7, but that'd mean giving up my first. Tough order, that.

Are black paint M7's even available outside of the a la carte program?
