What was your first SLR?

The first slr I used was a friend's Konica t2 and a 52mm lens.

A few years later, I could afford my own slr and bought a Mamiya 645 with 110mm and 35mm lenses. I still have the 110, but the rest of that kit is gone.
 
K1000 given to me by my father, Christmas 1985.
Still have and occasionally use it, and the system grew... I now have a pretty complete one and use it as my mainstay 35mm and digital kit.
 
Revueflex E (aka Zenit E) with a Helios-44. Got it for my birthday in 1970.
Selenuim meter, uncoupled, not very accurate, above the lens and the viewfinder showed 78% (WOW!!) of the image on the film. Anyway, it was my first "real" camera and I liked it very much and learned a lot using it.

Olympus OM10 + 50mm 1.8 zuiko, bought new in 1982. I still have it and use it occasionally: it works perfectly, despite never having been serviced (or even cleaned...)

I've had good luck getting mirror action back to normal with replacing the bumper. That old foam gets like tar. I replaced the bumper on a TL-Electro-X, picked up cheap. Great user now.
 
OM-1 that was a hand-me-down from my dad in the mid-70's, when he bought himself an OM-2. It was my only camera for over 20 years. Had the 50/1.4 lens.

My wife got an AE-1 as a present from her brother about the same time I got the OM-1. It had a Soligor zoom.

We carried both these cameras traveling - even high-altitude backpacking in the Sierras. We still have and use both, though we have more and newer lenses for them now.
 
About 1974 I bought a Pentax Spotmatic (screw mount) I left it and its lenses and all our vacation snaps in a restaurant on our way home from Taos one year! Broke my heart, but ended my angerfest about the introduction of the K mount!

Here is mine (I got it new 1969). I just had it CLA'd and the meter fixed by Eric Hendrickson, it is now perfect. Even though it is needle match, I have put so many miles on the camera, it seems easy to use than the 6 newer SLRs I have. That is the original strap, SkyLight filter and lenshade.

Pentax ME Super for me, 1980 or 81, I think. I picked it after comparing cameras at that price point extensively. THe 1/2000 shutter and the aperature priority auto sealed the deal for me. It's long dead now, but I've recently bought a good one for sentimental reasons, I guess.

Wow! post 24 before we got a Pentax K1000- my first SLR too, with a 55/2.0 lens or was it a 1.8?

Teaching Photo 1 I see a lot of these cameras- Have a Mamiya 500tl this semester, several AE-1's, an OM1and a beautiful Nikkormat FT- all brassed up. Usually have at least one Minolta SRT.

I don't know how much film I ran through that K1000, shot it hard for 5 years.
 
Brand new Black Nikon FTN that I had on lay-away forever. Paying $20 or whatever I could afford eash week until it was paid for. I had just started the photography program at The Maryland Institute of Art.
