What year was my Nikon S2 manufactured?

My Nikon S2 serial # is 6165***. Any ideas on the manufacturing date.

From Rotoloni's book, S2 production started at number 6135001 and went to 6198375. Your camera is roughly in the middle of that, and given that the S2 was made between December 1954 and June 1958, presumably your camera was made about 1956.
