What year was this zorki-4 producted?

I've just received a really clean Zorki-4 I purchased on e'bay. Paid less then 20 bucks including a case
The camera seem to function great. I can't wait to run a roll of film through it tomorrow morning.

I have a question about the age of the camera. Is there any way to tell what year the camera was products by the serial number?
The all numbers on the different dials are engraved not painted.
It has a f/2 Jupiter-8 lens without click stops.
The serial number on the camera body is 6661013, the serial number on the lens is 6676579.

Can anyone give me any info.

For most Zorkis the first 2 digits of the serial number tells you the year of manufacture (8-digit numbers after 1955 or so). That makes yours a 1966, and lens serial agrees with it (first two digits again, for most Jupiters) so it's probably the original lens supplied from new. Note that this does NOT work for FEDs, except a few where it was coincidence.

The LTM Jupiter 8 never had click-stops, only the Kiev versions did. You have one of the better-built models. Later ones had silk-screened speeds that wear off and they are less well-made overall too. Enjoy!

I just bought a '63 Zorki 4 at an estate sale last weekend, and since then I've been constantly searching for information about it. This site's been extremely helpful (I can't wait to CLA it when I get enough time to sit down and do it), but I found another site that explains in great detail the many versions of the Zorki 4 produced between 1956 and 1973. For what it's worth, mine is a Type 2A.
