Whatcha Got?

Actually if you check thru the IDOCC membership (Internet Directory of Camera Collectors) you'll find lots of kooky guys like myself with waaaay more toys than I have. Also by looking up Doug Wilcox's site or www.harmonphoto.com/Antique.html you'll find another couple of fellers who have oodles and kaboodles of cameras. P.S. I'd rather have Bill's oodles than my kaboodles since his are nicer and mine are pretty common.

I never cared for the FA. It's just a programmer guy thing. I read all about Matrix Metering and just do not care for it. After using the 60/40 meters for so long I build in my own correction factors. With matrix metering I can't figure out what it measured on to add in my automatic correction value. Just can't do this matrix thing without a heads-up display telling me all of the weights that it applied.

joe,

The spreadsheets setup on a few different pages, one each for bodies, lenses & filters.

Bodies page just lists the slr's by model together, with a little notes column for features such as MLU or spot meter etc.

For the fixed lense bodies, I break it down by format, 35mm, 6x6 etc, then in columns, I have Model, F/Stop, Focal Length, "Have I Shot a Roll with it Yet", Lense and then Filter Size.

For the Lense page, I first have it broken down by mount, and then Focal Length. The columns are Manufacturer, Focal Length, Min F/Stop, Max F/Stop, Filter Size, Rear Cap, Front Cap and a notes sections for things such as Tripod mount, case, hood etc.

The Filter page, is just break by type, ie Polarizer, B&W, then a column for size.

Very nice Doug. I'm too lazy to get into _that_ much work 🙂, so a spreadsheet is a nice compromise for me.

Joe, copy away. Feedback on any improvements would be welcome too.

Got way too Much!

Got way too Much!

Actually I don't think a list is possible for me without a lot of digging, so I will just summarize.

Have:

RF's: 2 Leica M's, 3 Leica screw mounts, 8 assorted FED's, 7 Zorki's, 4 Keiv's, 1 Contax, 1 Retina, and 7 Canon screw mounts.

SLR's: 8 Olympus, 5 Konica, 3 Pentax, 3 Minolta, 3 Canon manual focus, 1 Canon AF, and 3 Nikon mf.

TLR's: 2 Yashica.

On Order: 1 Zorki 6 (Don't know why!!)

Three Must Keep: Leica M3, Leica M6, Olympus OM4

Wish List: Canon L1 or P (Definitely the fault of RFF)

Nuff said -- Paul C.

Woah, nice record system Doug ! It's a nice idea and with your permission I'll try to copy it 🙂 It's also always a good idea to have serial numbers written down.

Ok, let's go, in no particular order.

SLR cameras:

- Zenit 122
- Praktiflex 500 (Zenit B, friend donation)
- Minolta X370s
- Minolta SRT 303b
- Minolta SRT 101b (repaired it and gave it to a friend)

TLR cameras:

- Lubitel 166U
- Rolleicord Va

Folding cameras:

- Agfa Isolette III (needs bellows repair)
- Moskva 5

35mm Rangefinder cameras (!)

- Fed-2
- Zorki 3M
- Kiev 4am
- Kiev 4a custom made black
- Kiev II
- Minolta Hi-matic 7s (thanx Joe ! 😉
- Canonet G-III QL17
- Canonet G-III QL19
- Olympus 35 SPn
- Canon 7
- Leica CL

Not too many of them, after all 🙄

- Keepers: sorry, I can't choose only three...
- On order: black Nikon F2, hehe...
- Wish: Canon P or VI-L, Leica M2

Oscar,
That would be a Nikon F2 Photomic Black with a 35mm F2 Nikkor IC (Integrated Coating) series lens. and CH4 fitted case.

Even has the little strap lug protectors on it.

Ok, then:

On order: Nikon F2 Photomic Black with a 35mm F2 Nikkor IC (Integrated Coating) series lens. and CH4 fitted case.

😉

Oscar, feel free to use any ideas... 🙂

As some may note, the datafile is named Personal Property, and with different layouts and some different fields, I use this one file to record all significant property such as refrigerator, TV, computer equipment, etc. I admit to different datafiles for automobile records and for books.

I am reluctant to provide a comprehensive shopping list of salable camera gear here for the possible use of burglars... not that burglars would be reading RFF, but who knows!

Thanks Doug ! 😉

Jeff, WHEN did you get the Prominent Nokton !?! Ahhh, when I was on leave eh ? And you didn't tell me... :_(

Hehe, did you already get the adapter to use it on the Kievs ?

Leica may have their code-names, but Nikon has a definite system. You know when you are far gone when you know what a:

Nikon F2 with DP2 and DS1, complete with DN1 and DH1 is, And then look for the CH11 to go with it. Yup, got one.

Not as as much flavor as the old Leitz names like CHICO, CEYOO, IMARECT, and VIDOM.

I'll bite...

Got:
Kodak #2 folder (c. 1918, 120 film!) || Argus A || Mamyaflex (the first model, with late 65mm lens) || Bronica S2 kit || Diana (had one when I was 9, saw this one in a local junk shop & couldn't resist) || Canon 7 || Leica M2 || Polaroid 180 || Polaroid SX-70 w. sonar autofocus || Olympus SP || Nikon F2 || Nikon FE.

The 3 I'd Keep:
Leica M2, Nikon F2, Bronica S2 kit

The 2 Dream Cameras:
Linhof Technica, and what the h*ll, a RoBoT Royal.

Hi guys,

The cameras I have:

Pentax ME Super (with a 50mm f2 & 70-200 fIforget Pentax)

Olympus XA (Yay! It's here! Lotsa fun)

Olympus XA2

I'm only keeping 2 of 'em, the XA and the Pentax.

As for the wish list, I'm with Kris on this, don't really *need* anything now, but I would like an interchangeable lens RF. So seeing as it's a wish list, I'll have to go a Leica Msomething. I don't like the 7 as much to look at, but ttl has gotta be nice...

Cheers,
Steve
