been pouring over the local photo dealer's website, dropped in today to 'touch' everything and see what i might gift myself with...i have a few too many cameras and 9 fuji lenses to frustrate myself with.
i was hesitant to admit it but i currently pine for nothing photographic.

so i bought a handful of magazines and walked out of the store.

The highlights for me have been a new pedestal fan and a back pack battery powered sprayer. No desire for anything photographic ... I have more than enough of that stuff! :)

Buy yourself a vacation trip, Joe! New sights to see and photograph! :)

Our Christmas gift to ourselves is a sea cruise from Miami through the Panama Canal to Lima Peru. I hope we can enjoy it!

i toy with this idea occasionally but rarely follow through on it. my energy level is pretty low these days.

A few days ago, I toyed with the idea of getting a Sigma SD Quattro. Then I went out and took some pictures with my oldest Fuji, an X-Pro1. Came home, downloaded them and printed a couple. Damn, but it's amazin' how great those prints look! Thought about the Sigma again and blew off the idea.

Merry Christmas to all!

Got this for my Christmas present this year and snagged a spot on Sover's waitlist, which will be my Christmas present next year (14 month wait...eek!).

The girlfriend got me a 25/1.7 LUMIX lens and a Rode VideoMic Go. Super excited about trying those two out.

I got myself a Bessa R2M and I might buy a new lens for it after the Holidays.

We are going to pick her up a new computer for working at home. This will be my first computer in about 10 years. So a nice printer is the goal for 2018.

I work Christmas Day so afterwards we plan to be lazy and watch movies all night!

Happy holidays everyone!

It wasn't really a self gift as I'd been thinking about getting one for a while, but when I was asked to do the photos at a Christmas party, I ordered a DX 18-55 lens for my Nikon D300S as I needed a close range event lens. I ordered a hood for it too, but wound up with the wrong one because I was getting an original design 18-55, and the hood was for the VRII model which features a bayonet hood mount.

But all was good because the lens was no good (with the VR on, the image would rise in the viewfinder, and the lens would go "clunk"), so I sent it back and ordered a refurbished VRII model from Nikon for about ten dollars more. That was better than having to search for another $25 hood. And it got here with time to spare.

Now, if I wanted to get a gift, it would have to be a better flash than the little SB-400 left over from my P7700.

my m240 came back from NJ on Friday! WOO HOO!

I made the drive between the bay and Portland last night and brought along a light dusting of snow with me too.

Tomorrow, it will be all about giving though

what's for Christmas?

what's for Christmas?

1) another unicorn to add to the herd
2) a second pair of identical twin Sasquatches
3) and a brand new Konost digital rangefinder camera!

Merry Christmas everyone!

An acquaintance gave me a Canon AE-1 Program with an FD 50/1.8 lens a couple days ago, and said "Merry Christmas." I was quite happy to receive it.
