What's in Your Bag?

I've been grabbing the T-90 most often of late with it's 50/1.4 SSC though that's mostly to get used to its metering and AE routines.

My normal go bag is a little bag with my CL, Sekonic L28c meter, and and two of 28/3.5, 50/2 or 90/4 depending on which is on the CL. And then the rest of the space is stuffed to the gills with film :) and odds & ends (cable release, qr tripod plate, lens cleaning solution, microfiber cloth, etc.

In the bag: 6 rolls Tri-X 120, filters (ND, yellow, polarizer), meter, pen, notebook. On the strap: Rolleiflex 3.5E.

Oops! This is RFF!

In the bag: Serenar 28/3.5 + finder, Serenar 85/2.0 + hood, Film, meter.
On the strap: Leica M4-2, Summicron-C 40/2.

When I purposely go out to shoot, I take my entire kit listed in my sig that can fit into my small but roomy Roots sling camera bag along with about 5 rolls of film. My usual day bag is pretty big (16x10x9 internally) but it has to accommodate quite a few folders, a 15" laptop, perhaps a textbook or two, a packed lunch, and a bunch of other little things so I only take my camera with my 35/1,7 Ultron or my 50/1,5 J3 in there with one or two spare rolls of film. I was pleasantly surprised at how compact a J3 is and once mine comes back from Brian Sweeney, I have a feeling I'm going to be using it the most.

Usually, in the LL Bean Healthy Back bag-- Bessa R2, 50mm Color Skopar, 90mm APO Lanthar, 4 - 6 rolls of Fujicolor 400 or Ilford XP2 (or mix of the 2).

In the car console, either Casio Z120 or Panasonic LZ3.

Its been Bessa R with J-3 or CV35 since january. But since August I have the M2 :D Bessa has taken the backseat for now.

Balda-Baldix, Baltar 75mm f4.5.
Uncoupled version of the OPs Balda.

Small and light...though I'm looking to replace it with the coupled rangefinder version or an Iskra.

Today it was Leica M2 + VC 40mm f1.4 with Provia 400F, and Agfa Super Isolette with Provia 100F.
Did a couple shots with Zorki 1e with Jup 12 and my new home-made 35mm finder too...

I have several "travel light" kits...

One would be my Leica M4-2 with 35 Sumilux and 21mm S.A. f3.4 with finder (both in my pocket).

Another would be a Nikon F (eye level finder), Sekonic L398M, 20mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4, and 85mm f1.4. Or substitute a D70 with about the same lenses or a bit shorter.

I always carry a cloth for wiping things off and, if space is available, a large bulb blower like the Hama. "Cleanliness is something-or-other."

An Iskra is neither small nor light. You will need a stronger bag!

When I just need a carry camera, I grab either a small non-SLR digital or a small 35mm rangefinder that is already loaded with daylight film. I don’t put it into a bag. Instead, I use a small case that attaches to my belt.

Yesterday I toted a Canon Canonet QL17 G-III (which is a lot easier to carry than type!).

I must say, these little fixed lens 35mm RF's are considerably smaller than a 'proper' size RF645 w/65mm! :p

:D

I was thinking, it would be interesting to see what mrmbers here use the most - I know many people have many different cameras, but what do you use most? What do you grab as you go out? Whats your favorite and why? I'm sure there was a thread like this or similar, but I want to see updated version. So, anyone willing to share?

George

The one I almost always grab is a black Nikon F without photomic (but with a soft-release button and with a grid screen and a Mamiya rubber shade for the eyepiece), Nikkor 28mm f3.5, 50mm f1.4 with their original shades and a Lunasix 3 with spot attachment. If I want to go "light" I get only the 50mm and I leave teh spot attachment home. I used to shot almost always APX100 but now the best I can find are T-Max100 (I don't really like it) or Fuji Across (I don't always find it).

Last weekend my Crumpler 5MDH held:

R-D1 with
28/3.5 Kobalux
15/4.5 CV
50/2 Hexanon
and Contax G1 with 45/2.
Also 5-6 rolls of film, cleaning kit, 2 spare R-D1 batteries, a roll of Lifesavers, 2 spare SD cards, and business cards.

I am liking the Crumpler bag but may graduate to the bigger 6MDH model.
